WSD families,

The Wenatchee School District has implemented new COVID guidance effective immediately for schools and athletics. We appreciate your patience as guidance has continued to shift due to testing supply shortages. As always, our priority continues to be the health and safety of our students and staff. If at any time you have COVID-related questions, please contact your school’s nurse for the most up-to-date information and timelines.

All students need to report positive tests and exposures to their school.

Students who have symptoms cannot attend school regardless of COVID test results

Positive test

• Positive test- Out 5 days, can return on day 6 (Example- positive test 1/10/22 = day 0)

• Can return on day 6 (1/16/22) as long as they are asymptomatic.

• No test necessary

• If symptomatic on day 6 they need to remain out until asymptomatic

Exposure

Test to Stay Program

• Test on the day of exposure notification or day after- if negative can stay (if they don’t test they must go home)

• 2nd test is on day 4 or 5 after exposure

• If symptomatic- stay home and receive a test

Household exposure (continued contact)

• Positive household person quarantine- 5 days (1/10/22-1/15/22)

• Students can test on day 5 (1/15/22) of last contact and if negative-Can return day 6 (1/16/22) and enter test to stay for 5 days

• Test to Stay window - 5 days (1/16/22-1/20/22)

Positive test in the last 90 days

Those who have a confirmed positive test in the last 90 days and are not experiencing symptoms will not have to test or quarantine.

Testing

Wrestling, basketball, and cheer athletes will test on the day of competition only. Those that have tested positive for COVID since November 15th will not be required for testing.

Masking

Universal masking of all athletes during all practices/training for wrestling, basketball and cheer is required. Coaches, trainers and support staff are not required to be tested but must wear masks at all practices/training and competitions.

Athletes do not have to wear masks during competition but must be masked when not competing. For example, when athletes are on the bench for basketball they need to be wearing a mask. Athletes that have tested positive for COVID since November 15th do not have to test but must wear a mask at all times when masks are required.

El Distrito Escolar de Wenatchee ha implementado una nueva guía de COVID con vigencia inmediata para escuelas y deportes. Agradecemos su paciencia ya que la orientación ha seguido cambiando debido a la escasez de suministros de prueba. Como siempre, nuestra prioridad sigue siendo la salud y la seguridad de nuestros estudiantes y personal. Si en algún momento tiene preguntas relacionadas con COVID, comuníquese con la enfermera de su escuela para obtener la información y los plazos más actualizados.

Todos los estudiantes deben informar las pruebas positivas y las exposiciones a su escuela.

Los estudiantes que tienen síntomas no pueden asistir a la escuela independientemente de los resultados de la prueba COVID

Prueba positiva

• Prueba positiva: fuera 5 días, puede regresar el día 6 (Ejemplo: prueba positiva 1/10/22 = día 0)

• Puede regresar el día 6 (1/16/ 22) siempre que sean asintomáticos.

• No es necesario realizar una prueba

• Si presentan síntomas el día 6, deben permanecer fuera hasta que estén asintomáticos.

Exposición

Programa Prueba para Permanecer

• Realice la prueba el día de la notificación de exposición o el día siguiente; si es negativo, puede permanecer (si no realizan la prueba, deben irse a casa)

• La segunda prueba se debe realizar el día 4 o 5 después de la exposición.

• Si tiene síntomas: quédese en casa y reciba una prueba

Exposición en el hogar (contacto continuo)

• Persona del hogar positiva ase cuarentena - 5 días (1/10/22 - 1/15/22)

• Estudiante puede hacerse la prueba el día 5 (1/15/22) del último contacto y si es negativo: puede regresar el día 6 (1/16/22) e ingresar a el programa prueba para permanecer durante 5 días

• Ventana de prueba para permanecer - 5 días (1/16/22 - 1/20/22)

Prueba positiva en los últimos 90 días

Aquellos que tengan una prueba positiva confirmada en los últimos 90 días y no experimenten síntomas no tendrán que hacerse la prueba ni ponerse en cuarentena.

Pruebas

Los atletas de lucha libre, baloncesto y porristas realizarán pruebas solo el día de la competencia. Aquellos que hayan enviado mensajes de texto positivos para COVID desde el 15 de noviembre no será necesario hacerse la prueba.

Cubrebocas

Se requiere un cubrebocas universal de todos los atletas durante todas las prácticas/entrenamientos de lucha libre, baloncesto y porristas. Los entrenadores y personal de apoyo no están obligados a someterse a pruebas, pero deben usar cubrebocas en todas las prácticas/entrenamientos y competencias.

Los atletas no tienen que usar cubrebocas durante la competencia, pero deben usar cubrebocas cuando no estén compitiendo. Por ejemplo, cuando los atletas están en el banco de baloncesto, deben usar un cubrebocas. Los atletas que dieron positivo por COVID desde el 15 de noviembre no tienen que hacerse la prueba, pero deben usar un cubrebocas en todo momento cuando se requieran cubrebocas.
