Flexibility in Thinking - October's Habit of Mind

October's Habit of Mind is "Flexibility in Thinking." Thinking flexibly is having the ability to look at things in a different way. Linked below is a 2016 video presentation that Dr. Art Costa conducted at Waikiki School for parents. At the 31:25 mark, Dr. Costa explains the importance of thinking flexibly. He quips, "A question that you may ask your child at home is 'From whose perspective are you seeing this? From whose perspective are your solving this problem? Are you looking at this only from your point of view?'"

Wednesday, October 18, 2023. Day will end at 2:15 pm


Friday, October 20, 2023. Day will end at 1:30 pm.

Our evening family Haunted House event will take place on October 20. In order to properly set up for the festivities, school will end at 1:30 pm.


Parent-Teacher Conferences

Monday, October 30 through Monday, November 13. Day will end at 1:15 pm for the 10 school days. Note that Friday, November 10 is Veteran's Day.
