The BIS Bulletin

According to the school calendar, our first make-up day for the snow day we had last Thursday, January 12th, would be Presidents' Day, Monday, February 20th.

We do NOT plan to make up last week's last snow day. By absorbing the day missed and not making up the time, the District will still be within the requirements outlined by DESE (Department of Elementary and Secondary Education).

We will NOT have school on Monday, February 20th, unless we have an additional inclement day of weather before February 1st that would require us to miss another day of school. If that should occur, we will use Presidents' Day as the make-up day. If the snow day is after February 1st, the weather make-up day would be April 6th.

• No snow days before February 1st = No school on February 20th
• Snow day before February 1st = School on February 20th

We have a new reading challenge for 3rd quarter! Students in all grades are working together to achieve a building goal of reading 100,000 pages. Collectively, students have already read over 13,000 pages! We love seeing students excited about reading!

We have an abundance of clothes in the lost and found here at BIS. Please check out the slideshow below to see if any of these items belong to your student. They can stop by anytime to grab their items or you can contact the office and specify which slide # and which item belongs to your student and we can try to get those items in the right hands!

Let's "Taco" bout our amazing staff here at Blair Oaks Intermediate! We truly have the best of the best working with our kids everyday. Our Home and School would like to treat them with a Taco Bar Fiesta for lunch on January 26th. Please take a look at the sign up below to see if there is something you would be willing to donate to our taco bar to make it a success. We ask that all donated items be brought into the intermediate office no later than the morning of January 26th. As always, thank you for your continued support!!

Basketball Cheerfair is BACK and we are excited!

CHEERFAIR PARTICIPANTS:
Girls & Boys in grades PK-5 are invited to join the Blair Oaks High School cheerleaders to perform at half-time of the varsity basketball game on Friday, February 3rd, against Miller Career Academy. The game starts around 7:00 p.m. An announcement will be made for the girls to meet in the cafeteria prior to half-time. All participants are free to leave at the conclusion of the performance. A practice will be held on Thursday, February 2nd, from 3:15-4:30 p.m. in the Elementary Gym. Registration is $15.00 per student and includes the student's t-shirt.

ALL SHIRT ORDERS:
Please print the order confirmation that is e-mailed to you and return it to the elementary, intermediate, middle , or high school office with payment. Please be sure to mark "CheerFair - Attn: Coach Lackman" on the outside of the envelope. A separate form should be completed for each participant. One total payment may be made for all participants/orders. Checks should be made payable to "BHS Cheer".

FFA Annual Dinner & Dance

Where: Wardsville Lion's Club

When: February 4th, 2023

Doors open: 5:30 p.m.

Dinner: 6:30 p.m.

Dancing: 8:00 - 11:00 p.m.

Cost: $40 per person; $320 for a table of 8
