Superintendent's Weekly Update

We had a little bit of a challenge on Thursday when our internet connection was down for more than half the day. Luckily, service was restored by the provider before school started on Friday.

You are encouraged to incorporate these colors (see the graphic below) in your choice of attire for Black Graduation.

Please plan to arrive by 9 a.m. Breakfast and lunch will be available during this all-day event.

Here's how the director responsibilities have landed:

Franklin Pierce HS - 10 a.m.

Washington HS - 1:30 p.m.

• Awarding of Diplomas: Director Alex Davis and Director Mark Baumgarten

GATES HS - 4 p.m.

• Presentation of the Class of 2025: Superintendent Lance Goodpaster
• Acceptance of the Class of 2025: Director Jeff Wolff
• Awarding of Diplomas: Director Jeff Wolff

Three teams of Keithley students traveled to the Microsoft campus in Redmond, Washington to compete in the game design showcase, where they won 1st and 2nd place in the middle school bracket for best game and received recognition for best art design in the open division.

Payton Ortiz and Lee Dela Cruz sat on a student panel for future administrators concluding their admin program at UW-Tacoma last Saturday morning. WHS teacher Eric Stanczyk reported the panel was moved by their thoughtfulness and wisdom.

As you can see there are many, many events occurring across the district in May and June. No doubt, some times/dates will change or be added so please feel welcome to confirm information with Kristin prior to attending.
