It is December. I am excited to embrace the winter season, Texas style. I have had the opportunity to reflect on the achievements of our students. The hallways are full of the hustle and bustle of students working on projects, music playing for the band concert, teachers preparing for mid-terms and winter competitions.

As we approach the end of the calendar year, let us celebrate the successes and look forward to a new year filled with growth, learning and collaboration.

Thank you for making this first semester an amazing experience. Your support has been felt and is so appreciated.

Thank you for choosing LPS! National School Choice Week is in January and all students are encouraged to wear yellow on January 25, 2024, to raise awareness of K-12 education options. The LPS Cheer team is selling a yellow, Lions spirit wear shirt to show our Lion Pride. Cost is $15. All proceeds will help LPS Cheer purchase a new mascot costume. Ordering closes January 5th. Shirts will be delivered the week of January 22nd.

On Thursday, December 14, 2023, at 6 pm in the LPS Secondary Gym, the LPS Bands will be presenting their annual Christmas Concert. All the LPS Beginning Bands will be combined to perform a number of selections, including Jingle Bells and other Christmas favorites. Then, after they perform, the combined LPS Middle School and High School Bands will present several Christmas favorites as well. The bands will be dressed in their best Christmas attire.

• Spring semester deadline for submission of commitments is May 5, 2024.
