Please note that the week of 12/14 includes a delayed start as well as 2 half days. Please plan your drop off and pick up times accordingly for your students.

As you can see from our schedule above, it will be a busy week as we work our way to Winter Break. We are trying to schedule in some Holiday fun as we move through the week as well.

On Wednesday (Delayed Start) - Students are encouraged to Wear Christmas and celebrate the season. Students can wear ugly Christmas sweaters, Red, Green and White, Christmas pajamas, Santa Hats or just dress as snow in all white. Join in the fun.

In addition on Wednesday during 4th hour all of our classes will celebrate with our ReinDEAR read in. DEAR stands for Drop Everything And Read. Each class will take time and just Drop Everything And Read. A nice way to get cozy for the winter break.

First Semester will end on Friday, December 18th. While we will not be holding traditional semester end exams, it is very important that you child works diligently to turn in missing or outstanding assignments before the end of the week. Final grades will be calculated and report cards distributed upon the return from Winter Break.

We will continue to follow the exam schedule for our 1/2 days. This will provide students with an extended class period for each of their classes so that they can complete and submit their final assignments.

Due to the changes in our schedule this week, we will also be adjusting our distribution of meals on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

In accordance with Board of Education policies, our Return to Learn plans and direction from local, state and federal health officials, if your student has any of the following symptoms, you must keep them home from school!

• temperature of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher
• sore throat
• an uncontrolled cough that causes difficulty breathing
• the onset of a severe headache
• diarrhea and/or vomiting
• unusual belly pain
• new loss of taste or smell

IMPORTANT: Based on Board policies and written guidance from local, state and federal health officials, in order for your child to return to school after experiencing one or more of the above symptoms a parent/guardian must provide a negative COVID-19 test result or a doctor’s note releasing the student to attend school. If you do not provide a negative COVID-19 test result or doctor’s note, then your student will be excluded from Coloma Community Schools for ten (10) days from the first day they had symptoms. They must also be fever free for 24 hours and/or their symptoms have improved after the ten (10) day exclusion period before they can return.
