Due to our success in the classroom working with Google over the years, we have been chosen as a pilot school to trial some new educational software. This is an exciting new initiative that will allow staff and students access to the very latest technological developments.

Churston Drama department presents...Alice in Wonderland. Showing on Tuesday 5th, Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th of December at 7pm. Tickets are £6 Adult and £3 Child/Student and are available on Parentpay to buy now. Tickets to be collected from Mrs Dogherty at lunchtimes from the 13th November onwards. Over 100 students are involved in the show and the cast and crew are working very hard to make this a fantastic show. We hope to see you all there! Mrs Chatfield

Well done to Emily Criddle and Emma Parrock, who both obtained full marks for their GCSE Art in the summer.

Year 9 went on a Geography field trip to the Eden Project - embarking on a journey of discovery through the World’s Biomes.

First, they explored the Rainforest Biome where they travelled around the dome observing all of the fascinating plant life and vegetation. The wildflowers were of extraordinary beauty and there was a range of interesting fruit growing.

They also experienced the delicious smelling Mediterranean Biome with whitewashed walls and vegetation that included citrons, Aloe Vera, cork trees and cacti.

The journey continued around the Temperate Biome, which was outside and had many areas to explore!

Over 30 Year 12 students have recently completed the expedition section of the Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award. Many of these students are now going on to start the Gold Award and are being joined by other members of Year 12.

We are very proud that Year 9’s Luis Hegarty won a Gold for sparring in the British Taekwondo Championships in Birmingham at the weekend. He is now the 'Boys Red Division Heavy Weight' British Champion! Well done Luis.

The Sustainable Today team have been becoming increasingly worried about the amount of litter spotted on our local beaches, and of the impact this has on local people and wildlife. So in July, our enthusiastic team of Eco Warriers took things into their own hands and organised a beach clean at Elberry Cove. Armed with buckets, gloves and litter-pickers, they scoured the beach, collecting anything that shouldn't have been there. They were amazed at the variety of litter found - the biggest offenders were flipflops, drink cans, fishing nets, barbeques and even toothbrushes! After an hour and a half of hard work, they had filled three large bags of litter and the beach was looking much better. Well done team!
