LMHS LIBRARY DIGITAL RESOURCES
The library offers many digital resources such as research databases, ebooks, audiobooks, citation creation and digital notecard/research organization tools. Links to these can be found on the library website: https://sites.google.com/lunenburgschools.net/lmhs-library-media-center. The databases are grouped by subject areas to make navigating the many resources easier. Databases work automatically within the school building, but passwords are needed for home access. The database passwords are accessible from any database page on the library website - look for the blue banner at the top of each database page. As long as a student is logged into their school Google account, clicking that link will open the list of usernames and passwords for all of the databases offered through the library.
Mrs. Vallee is available in the library and by email at pvallee@lunenburgschools.net for any student needing help finding a book, researching a topic, using the databases, or creating citations.
OVERDUE LIBRARY BOOKS
Reminder to all students - overdue notices are sent to your school email every Tuesday morning. If you need to keep the book longer for a project, just reply to the email that you’d like to have it renewed. We do not charge overdue fines, but books do need to be returned as part of senior obligations and if leaving the district/applying to Monty Tech. Don't forget you can log into your Destiny accounts any time to see which books you have checked out and when they are due.
Click the Library Media Center link on the LHS or LMS website
Choose Destiny Discover from the side navigation
Click login in the upper right corner. Your user name is the beginning of your Google account (2027MaryB) and your password is the same as your Google account (such as meb127999).
Check your lockers, cars, houses and classrooms for those books. Please get those overdue books in ASAP so that others can enjoy them too!!!
You can return books to the library or place them on the Return Cart outside the front office. See Mrs. Vallee in the library or email her at pvallee@lunenburgschools.net if you have any questions or need help renewing books. Thank you!!

ALL Grades should continuously check Guidance Google Classroom for summer programs, job opportunities, scholarship opportunities, testing dates and registrations (SATs, AP exams, ASVAB, etc.), career exploration events, and more.
SATs - The next SAT test date is March 9, 2024 (registration deadline is February 23, 2024). Any student interested in taking the SATs should visit the College Board website at https://satsuite.collegeboard.org/sat/registration for test dates, registration deadlines, and to register. For any student who has already taken the SATs, SAT scores need to be obtained through the College Board.
Juniors - The school counselors completed their College & Career Presentations this week. The link to the presentation: Junior College & Career Presentation. Starting the week after break, the school counselors will be holding Junior Seminars to work more closely with students on their post-secondary planning. The schedule is posted in the students' Guidance Google Classroom.
Scholarship Opportunities - The School Counseling Office has a new Scholarship page on the LHS website. Please note, there are scholarship opportunities for Grades 9 through 12. The link to the new page is https://sites.google.com/a/lunenburgschools.net/lhscounseling/scholarships. This page will be updated as new information is received or obtained.
Seniors, please continuously check the 2024 Guidance Google Classroom for scholarship opportunities and applications. Community Scholarships are due to Mrs. Foster by no later than 2:30PM on March 14th. Hard copies of applications can be obtained from Mrs. Foster in the Counseling office.

Summer Term Pre-College Programs - Lots of colleges offer summer high school programs (Pre-college Programs) either online or in person at various grade levels (starting with rising 8th graders). You can earn college credit, discover a new subject area, perform cutting-edge research in University labs, or immerse yourself in hands-on learning. Summer is a great time to push yourself academically. Please ask your student to check their Guidance Google Classroom as summer opportunities at Boston University, Cornell University and Champlain College have already been posted.
Seniors - College Applications, College Acceptance, and Post Graduation Career Plans - For those still working on College Applications and post graduation career plans, please set up a meeting with your Counselor, we are here to help. As your college decisions start to come in, please go into Naviance and mark whether or not you were accepted. Also, please stop by the Counseling Office to grab a pennant and decorate it with the schools you were accepted to. We would like to start filling our Acceptance Board.
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) - The 2024–25 FAFSA form is available here: https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa.
