Worship Service October 29
“Remembering our Heritage” with Rev. Mary Gear
At this time of year, some say that the veil between worlds is thin, and we can connect with those who have gone before us. Today, we make space to remember our ancestors as we claim our individual and collective heritage.
The worship service starts at 10:00 am.

Meeting ID: 873 210 124
Password: 995142
Dial +1 253 215 8782
In preparation for this worship service, please plan to bring to share a memento of a person or event or time from your heritage or OUUC’s heritage. If you attend in person, we’ll have an altar for you to place your item. If you attend online, you will have the opportunity to show and share your item. Together we will write our collective story of who we have been as we imagine the story of who we want to be. With this intention, we will worship together.
See you then.

The Book Sale set up starts this Thursday, but we will pause to eat together!
All are invited for pizza and salad bar at 5:30 pm.

Due to the rooms being set up for the book sale, the Buddhist and Christian groups will not be meeting this Thursday.
Sunday Talk Show Guest is Carol Horner
The “After Church with Melanie Ransom” Sunday talk show is back for a final episode with Carol Horner as the special guest. Carol is a long-time member of OUUC, lives at Panorama, is an artist, and a writer. This is your chance to learn more about Carol’s life, and how it might overlap with yours. The show starts at 11:30 am in the sanctuary, and on Zoom, using the same link we use for Sunday services. If you missed some of the previous shows, you can find them on the website. Many of us come to OUUC for the theology or the minister, but we stay because of our life-long connections to the people. – Melanie Ransom

Thousands of books have been collected and we need book shoppers, brownie munchers and coffee drinkers to join us at OUUC on Saturday. Share this FLYER to invite people to attend the Books, Brownies and Beans 20th Anniversary book sale on October 28 9:00 am-4:00 pm. If you are unable to shop for books you can help support the three non-profit organizations we are supporting this year by making a direct donation here. If you click the link and the regular OUUC screen shows up, close the window and click it again, then you will get the Books, Brownies and Beans donation page. Preparing for Take-Off
Sunday, November 5, 2:00-4:00 pm.
This short workshop is to help us responsibly leave behind enough information for the people we love the most when we die. They will be dealing with grief. The crucial information we provide will help them immensely in the work that must be done after we die. There is no limit to the number of people taking the workshop, but please use the sign up genius so I know how many are attending.
Storytelling Show
Come join us on Saturday, November 4 for Life without Notes, An OUUC storytelling show. All tellers are OUUC members who will have completed a two-week workshop on storytelling sponsored by the Adult Faith Development Committee. Come support them with the grace and love that are the hallmarks of our congregation.
1:00 pm in the sanctuary. Admission is free, and there are no tickets. We look forward to seeing you.
Newcomer Buddies
Members and long-time OUUC friends sought to be “Newcomer Buddies” this year and help newcomers navigate and find themselves welcome and engaged here at OUUC. Buddies will be matched with a newcomer and meet with them about 3 times, help find answers to questions, introduce newcomers to others, and generally help ease new people in to our community. Interested? Reach out to Rev Sara for more information.
Interested in Membership?
This year we are trying something new in place of our New Member Classes, and offering a gathering twice a month for those interested in knowing more about Unitarian Universalism, OUUC, and membership at OUUC.
