MES Weekly Scoop

On our first day back from break we had a skills and drills session for kindergarten thru 6th grades. We set expectations for all common areas around the school, and explicitly taught the expectations to all grade levels. Student can see the expectations posted in these areas

The 6th Grade Student Council hosted their Annual Dodgeball Tournament against MES Staff this morning. After a hard fought battle, the MES Staff went 2/3 and defended their first place title. Thank you to the Student Council for putting this together, as well as the PBIS Committee for sponsoring our "VIP Table." It was a fun way to begin the new year! Go Bulldogs!

1. Look at the person

2. Remain calm and use a pleasant voice

3. Begin with a positive statement, or by saying "I understand"

4. Be specific about what behaviors you are criticizing

5. Offer a rationale for why this is a problem

6. Listen to the other person's explanation. Avoid any sarcasm, name calling, or put down statements.
