As we approach the last 27 days of school please continue to encourage your children to do their best and finish strong. We are currently in Diagnostic season and students will began their m-Class End of the Year Diagnostic Benchmark on May 2 - May 20. As for stated please continue to encourage your child to stay focused and work hard to ensure that they reach their benchmark growth goals. Kindergarten:

• Greetings from the Kindergarten teachers. We welcome a new teacher Miss Bond to our team this week.
• Please continue to work every night on sight words and your take home books.
• Please remember that our end of year field trip to the aquarium and beach will be on May the 12th. Cost is $15.00 and money is due by Friday. May 6th.
• Parents are welcome to join us but must follow behind the bus and pay their own admission fee.
• Save the date for June 8th as all K classes will be celebrating the end of the year with a short program allowing our students to shine!
• Don’t forget to show the love for your special teacher the week of May 2-6 during Teacher Appreciation week. And we wish all moms a Happy Mother’s Day as well.

First Grade:

• Please continue to read daily, as well as review sight words. We’re in the short rows now, so it’s time to really buckle down!
• We appreciate all the help from parents on our field trip to the Wood Ducks game this week. A good time was had by all!
• Next week, we will begin our math unit on telling time to the hour and half hour. We will also be focusing on nonfiction texts, and more specifically earthworms. Be sure to ask your child about it.

Second Grade:

Hello from the second grade team members. These are a few reminders.

• Please remember that money for our field trip is due on May 20, 2022. No monies will be taken after this date.
• Continue to encourage students to meet their 80% behavior goal so they will be eligible for the field trip. Continue to read AR books each night and complete the reading log. Yesterday, your child brought home addition and subtraction flash cards.
• Please use these cards to practice math facts.

Resource:

Music Google Classroom is uploaded every Monday morning for student access to resources and activities. Students enjoy sharing songs and activities with family and friends while at home.

LIBRARY:

As the end of the year approaches, please look for any missing or long overdue library books. If there are lost or damaged books we would ask to replace them with the same title (Amazon hardcover books work just fine!) or pay for the book for us to replace. We would really appreciate that if you are able!
