Egg Harbor Township High School
Week of September 3, 2023
A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL
The beginning of the school year is finally here! Watching the new and returning students filling the hallways of EHTHS once again has been truly delightful. Ms. Delcher deserves special recognition for organizing the Wingmen throughout the hallways to assist students in locating their classrooms. Guidance also played a pivotal role in aiding students with scheduling issues. We extend our heartfelt THANK YOU for their efforts!
Last week, the Assistant Principals met with each grade level to review our expectations for the 2023-2024 school year. Our student handbook is linked here and always readily accessible via the High School website. Students and families are encouraged to familiarize themselves with our policies and procedures, with special attention to the dress code and code of conduct. Once again, this information was conveyed and emphasized to our student body.
This week, all underclassmen will have their pictures taken during their Health and Physical Education classes. The students were given order forms in class this week. To pay online, please visit https://barksdalephoto.com/.
This months edition of Egg Harbor Township Living has a great article on our very own, Mr. Cameron Bell. While Mr. Bell may be best known to the community for coaching our basketball teams to championships, he is also an extremely popular Social Studies teacher, advisor to Student Council and the Multicultural Clubs and freshmen football coach. This recognition of Mr. Bell is well-deserved.
At EHTHS, fostering student involvement is a top priority. Clubs and activities will be in full swing this week, coinciding with the start of our 3:20 p.m. activity buses. Any student interested in participating is encouraged to tune in to EHT-TV for meeting information.
Finally, EHTHS is excited to welcome parents and guardians to Back to School Night on Thursday, September 21. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m., allowing ample time for parents to find their child's first block class by 6:30. Representatives from ACCC and Stockton will be present in the Commons Area for those interested in learning more about their programs. The Teen Center and AtlantiCare School Health Specialist will also be available to parents seeking information about their programs. Don't forget to explore our school store, where you can purchase fabulous EHT gear.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Ms. Carugno
IMPORTANT INFROMATION ABOUT WORKING PAPERS
The way teens obtain working papers in New Jersey will be changing on June 1, 2023!
Thanks to a new law, the working papers process will be online and streamlined. Rather than going through local schools, younger workers will simply visit this site and be walked through a few easy steps.

#DAY 1
The High School will be continuing with this bullying-prevention program for this school year!
#DAY1--a staff and student-led philosophy that will serve to foster a building-wide atmosphere of kindness and inclusion.
This program was started a few years ago in Bergen County by the Tyler Clementi Foundation and has gained momentum throughout the state and country for use in schools, community groups, workplaces, and sports teams.
The premise is simple: the adults in the building make a “declaration statement” about behavior that is expected, as well as behavior that is unacceptable, and we all pledge to conduct ourselves accordingly. This includes seeking help when we witness unacceptable behavior occurring.
This notion is called being an #Upstander
Has your student taken their #Upstander Pledge yet?!?
Have them sign into their school account and click here! 😊
If you'd like more information on #Day1, please go to: https://tylerclementi.org/day1/
