Dear Hyde-Addison ES Families,

Please be reminded that there will be no school for students February 20-24, 2023, due to the holiday and DCPS February Break. We look forward to welcoming families back on February 27, 2023. Please review the DCPS Test to Return guidance shared under "News & Updates".

Hyde-Addison Elementary School

Please note that there is no school from February 20-24 due to President's day and DCPS's mid winter break.

1. Pick up a test kit!

• Schools will distribute COVID-19 test kits from February 15 to February 17. Please check your student’s backpack for the test kit.

• Families can also pick up a test kit from any District COVID Center, located in all 8 wards. You can find the COVID Center locations and hours here: https://coronavirus.dc.gov/covidcenters.

2. Test your student!

• All DCPS students are expected to take a COVID-19 test and report results on Sunday, February 26.

3. Upload your test results!

If your student tests positive, follow all isolation guidance from DC Health and your child’s healthcare provider. Individuals who test positive on a COVID-19 test cannot report for in-person activities and should remain at home during their isolation period. This includes students who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

No student will be allowed to leave school alone or with a sibling until the DCPS self-dismissal form has been signed and returned to the main office or emailed to hyde.addison@k12.dc.gov. Please note that PreK3 and PreK4 students are not eligible. Please contact hyde.addison@k12.dc.gov with any questions.

If you would like a Kids Ride Free Card for your student, please fill out this short form. They will be sent home in students' backpacks on Mondays.

Thank you to those who were able to join the Student Support Team Chat and Chew to learn about Zones of Regulation and engage in important conversations about supporting the healthy development of our students.

School mental health services and supports are an effective means of addressing the mental health needs of children and improving the learning environment. Click here if you would like to refer a student for mental health or counseling support provided by Ms. Stovall. Referrals will be processed by the Mental Health Team and staff will receive communication and updates regarding services.
