Dr. Nicki will help you to think about and prepare for purposeful, academically rigorous, standards-based guided math groups in grades 3-5. We will discuss assessment, set-up, design, differentiation, student accountability, engagement and rigor. Participants will leave with an action plan and specific lessons that they can start using immediately. Each participant receives the book Guided Math in Action, digital resources and a guided math starter kit!

Substitutions may be made at any time. All cancellations received 15 days before the seminar will be 100% refunded. Cancellations after that will receive a full credit for a future program.

Dr. Nicki Newton
Dr. Nicki Newton has been an educator for more than 25 years, working in inner-city schools on both the East and West Coasts, with student populations ranging from pre-kindergarteners through doctoral students. Having spent the first part of her career as a literacy and social studies bilingual specialist, she built on those frameworks to inform her math work. She has worked on developing Math Workshop and Guided Math Institutes around the country and internationally. Dr. Nicki works with teachers, coaches, and administrators to make math come alive by considering the powerful impact of an academically rigorous, standards-based, hands-on, minds-on approach to their math curriculum. She is the author of Guided Math in Action (2013), Math Workshop in Action (2015) and Math Running Records in Action (2015). She is currently writing Math Workstations in Action (2016). She has also written a series entitled Problem Solving with Math Models for grades K-5. Dr. Nicki is an avid blogger (www .guidemath .wordpress .com) and Pinterest pinner (drnicki7).
