Notes from the Coulston Office November 17, 2023
This week at Coulston
Attendance
DID YOU KNOW... Showing up on time every day is important to your child’s success and learning from preschool forward.
Missing 10% of school (1 or 2 days every few weeks) can make it harder to:
• Gain early reading and math skills,
. • Build relationships.
• Develop good attendance habits.
Thanks, parents for all that you do to support our school!
Thanksgiving Break
Parents, just a reminder that Thanksgiving Break will be from November 22-24. We will NOT have school on those days. We hope that everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Christmas Program
Our second grade classes will have their annual Christmas Program on Tuesday, December 12th at 6:30. We will also showcase our fourth and fifth grade music club. We are looking forward to this holiday event.
Holiday Parade
Parents it is that time of year again, the annual holiday parade! It will be held on December 1st at 7:00. The parade route will change this year due to construction downtown. We look forward to seeing our Coulston Families as our staff will be handing out books!!
Pie the Guy
We are still raising money for the Pantry Pals Pie the Guy competition. Students can bring in $1.00 to buy a ticket for a chance to Pie the Guy at our convocation in December. Our volunteers are Mr. Baldwin, Mr. Bunton, Mr. Brown, Mr. Nolley, Mr. Snow, and Mr. Stewart! Thanks in advance for supporting this community event. The last day to purchase tickets is Monday, November 20th.
Cell Phones:
Parents, we need your help!!! This is just a reminder that students are NOT to have cell phones out in school or on the buses. Please make sure you remind your child about the cell phone policy. We are having issues with students and appropriate use of the cell phone. Please know in advance if the rules are not followed, the cell phone will be put in the front office, and the parent will need to pick it up at school. Thank you in advance for your help with this issue.
This week at Coulston-Our teachers and students have been busy this week! This week in Mrs. Weiler classroom students learned about the four seasons and different activities that can be done in each season. They wrote and illustrated about each season. In Mrs. Matheny' s class the students worked on their writing skills. They were learning how to write complete sentences using capital letters and end marks. Great job Coulston Comets. Keep up the good work!!
Asistencia
NO tendremos escuela esos días.
Estaban aprendiendo a escribir oraciones completas usando letras mayúsculas y marcas finales. Gran trabajo Cometas Coulston. ¡¡Continúa con el buen trabajo!!
