FOOD SERVICES UPDATE

Resources for VAAC Students

WUS will resume in-person instruction, 5 days a week, beginning the week of February 15th (with February 19th and 22nd off for Mid-Winter Break). This will bring changes for Food Services as well.

VAAC STUDENTS:

The "VIRTUAL MEALS" program will continue to be offered optionally as a FREE food resource to WUS students enrolled in VAAC. This program will continue to provide 5 pre-packaged breakfasts and 5 pre-packaged lunches each week. Due to in-school students being offered FREE meals during the school day, this VIRTUAL MEALS program will only be available to students attending VAAC.

Due to program guidelines, if parents want their VAAC student(s) to receive VIRTUAL MEALS, they MUST register their VAAC student(s) for this program each week using the VIRTUAL MEALS ORDER FORM. Our staff will be required to verify eligibility using a check-off sheet during distribution times. Staff will be unable to distribute meals to those not on the list. Please be sure to sign your VAAC student(s) up each week if you'd like them to participate in this FREE program.

Distribution dates and times will change due to school now being in session 5 days a week. Distribution will occur on THURSDAY EVENINGS from 4:30-5:30pm at the WUS FAC beginning on FEBRUARY 18th. The WUS FAC (Fine Arts Center) is located at the East end of the High School.

Beginning with the order form that will open for sign-ups on February 10th (with distribution occurring on February 18th), only VAAC students will be eligible to sign up for VIRTUAL MEALS. Electronic order forms must be submitted no later than THURSDAY night each week in order to be on the list for the following week's meal distribution. The link for the form will be turned on for ordering on Wednesday and Thursday, then turned off on other days to allow the Food Service Department time to order, receive, prepare, and package meals.

IN-PERSON STUDENTS:

Breakfast and Lunch will continue to be FREE for all in-person students during the school day. Requirements of this program will remain that only full-meals are included as part of this FREE program. Meaning a la carte items, second meals, entrée-only purchases, or milk-only purchases will be charged to student accounts.

There is no need to sign students up for the FREE meals provided during the school day. Your student simply gets breakfast and/or lunch from the cafeteria during their scheduled meal times, at no charge. Meals will continue to be FREE for the remainder of the school year.
