Pecatonica Elementary School
Weather Unit
Kindergarten began the Science unit on weather at the beginning of April. Students discussed rain, read a story about the different kinds and sounds of rain, and created weather in a jar. They had lots of fun exploring, making observations, and recording their observations as real scientists would!
Kindergarten Concert
Pecatonica Kindergartners’ A Night of Firsts (and Lasts) will be performed on Wednesday, May 11th at 6:30 p.m. at Pecatonica High School. The kindergartners will be singing, dancing, and playing instruments to several songs including: “Body Boogie”, “Dance With Your Hands”, “Bestest Mom”, “My Dad”, “Twinkle, Twinkle March”, and “ABC Blues”. They will also be performing “The Star-Spangled Banner” for the first time.
There will be a special song collaboration involving the choruses from all three schools.
You won’t want to miss the kindergartners' first time on stage–what a show!!
Musical Guests
Mike Schneider of Pint-Sized Polkas performed on the accordion for our 1st-3rd graders. He was a big hit!
The Rockford Symphony Orchestra string quartet also came to the elementary school and performed several numbers for the 2nd-4th graders.
We loved seeing and hearing our very special guests!

Monster Exchange 2022
Third graders in Mrs. Rawhoof's class drew and "designed" their own monster character. Their designs were then sent to the high school art students who made the drawings come to life by creating either a clay figurine or a stuffed animal. After the high schooler students were done, the final products were brought back to the third grade student who created it.
This has been a tradition going on for at least 10 years. The kids love it both at the elementary school and high school! Special thanks goes to Mrs. Rawhoof and Mrs. Krantz for their collaboration.
