Budget Approved, Levy Reduced
The Board of Education approved the 2020-21 school budget and dropped the district levy Monday evening. The total levy will change from $1.2260 to $1.2201, a decrease of $0.0059.
District To Launch New STEM Academy
Millard Public Schools currently offers four career academies, and a fifth academy is set to start in the coming school year. The new academy's focus will be STEM, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. The sequence of courses in the STEM Academy will fulfill the Nebraska Department of Education career pathway of Engineering and Technology from the Skilled and Technical Sciences career field. The STEM Academy includes a STEM Capstone course with a choice for students, an Engineering pathway or a Communication and Information Technology pathway. The STEM Academy will be hosted at Millard West High School. The current academies include Business and Entrepreneurship, Business and Logistics Management, Education, and Health Sciences.
