Dear Parents,
We invite you to attend our Peace Day Assembly. The assembly will take place on Friday, February 10, 2023 at 8:45am School’s Playground. Your child will be performing as part of our school’s focus in promoting peace locally and globally.
Teachers and students have devoted many hours of practice for this performance. We look forward to seeing you here! To comply with fire regulations, we can only allow a certain number of persons to attend. Therefore, only 2 parents of performing students are invited to attend. The entrance will be at the 104th Gate. Parking is limited, please walk to school.
We will also live stream the assembly on Zoom and on Instagram.

School Attendance & Excused Absences
Dear Parent and Caregivers:
At Jefferson Elementary staff has exciting plans and high expectations for your child’s learning. I know that you also have many hopes and dreams for your child’s success in school and beyond.
To make sure those hopes and dreams are realized, I want to ask for your commitment to making sure your child attends school every day possible this year. The evidence is clear: children with good attendance are more likely to be successful in school. High attendance rates are linked to high student achievement.
The more you are in school, the more you learn.
The more you learn, the higher your grades will be.
The better your grades, the more you will enjoy school.
The longer you stay in school, the more likely you are to succeed in career and life.
Regular, on-time school attendance is a goal that can only be achieved with the cooperation of both parent and child. Absences contribute to lost learning. Parents should make every effort to schedule family events and appointments during non-school hours.
When absences are necessary, parents should send a note when the child returns. Please be specific in regards to the reason for the absence. (COVID, FEVER, DIARRHEA)
EXAMPLE: Please excuse my child John Doe for missing school on January 12, 2023 due to illness, doctor appointment, family emergency etc. (Please include your signature)
*It is very important that you send your child a note upon his/her return.*
I am asking for your support in helping your child get to school on time at 8:13 a.m. every day. Remember that breakfast is a great way to start the day and it’s FREE to everyone! Breakfast is served daily in the school cafeteria 7:45am to 8:05am. Your child needs to be in school and engaged in learning to reach his or her full potential. Yet, we realize that every family faces challenges. Please let me or your child’s teacher know if your family needs help dealing with a challenge to your child’s good school attendance. We will do our best to help you and your family ensure that your child’s school attendance stays on track.
Thank you for all you do to support your child’s school success and well being, as well as our school. I look forward to working with you this year and to having your child learn and grow at Jefferson Elementary!
