Our Sunday Night Seminary study provides new insights each week. I loved learning about how Mark’s description of Jesus’ march to death mirrored the practice of victorious Roman generals. It reminds us that God designed the Good News of Jesus to connect with all cultures. I have also enjoyed our discussions. It is encouraging to hear your insights into the Scriptures and how we can apply them to our lives. If you haven’t been on a Sunday night yet, it’s not too late. Jump in with us this week as we study the book of Luke.

This upcoming Sunday night is our Quarterly Business Meeting at 5:00. We will talk about our finances, hear an update from our Search Committee, and have a discussion about our Christmas Eve service. I hope you’ll join us for the Meeting and then stick around for Seminary to follow.

Our Fall Festival is next Tuesday night here at the EBC parking lot. We still have a spot for you to decorate the trunk of your car that night and help us hand out candy. The Fall Festival is a good time to visit with families in our community as their kids play games. Don’t be shy about initiating conversations and inviting families to join us for Sunday morning worship.

Shoeboxes are due November 12. Hopefully you are making good progress finding items for the shoeboxes. There are several filler items on the table across from the Worship Center.

Items include: notebooks, crayons, scissors, and a few toys. Your box will be a blessing to the boy or girl who receives the gift. It will also be an opportunity for them to hear the gospel and learn more about the Savior.

Annual Meeting of the Association

When: Sun, November 5, 5:00pm – 7:30pm

Where: FBC Hobart

Description: "United for the Gospel!" Speaker: Pastor Thomas Miller, Catered dinner included. EBC will provide transportation to and from Hobart for anyone that would like to go. There is no cost to attend this event. We will leave EBC at 4pm and plan to return around 8pm.

Sign up at the Welcome Desk if you are interested in helping. We have several areas where we need volunteers: Decorated trunk (20 spots), popcorn, cotton candy, hot cocoa, and games!
