Update on Quarantine Guidance
There are now four options for students following exposure
Dec. 14, 2021
Dear Canby families,
We have good news to share! Clackamas County Public Health, Oregon Health Authority, and Oregon Department of Education have updated their quarantine guidance for schools with expanded options to significantly reduce missed class time after COVID-19 exposures, all while minimizing risks of COVID-19 transmission.
We can now offer “Test to Stay” and a shortened 7-day quarantine in addition to our current options.
Note that the new Test to Stay option requires parent permission for testing at school. Please fill out the permission form and return it to your student’s school. Printed copies are also available at each school. In the event of an exposure, students will self-administer the test with guidance. Whether positive or negative, the result will be reported to Clackamas County.
Schools will continue to notify families of positive cases and communicate directly with families whose students were exposed at school. Families can then choose the quarantine option from the graphic below that applies or works best for them. Please take a moment to review the graphic for an overview of the options, and click the links included on the graphic for more information.
Sincerely,
Kristen Wohlers
