CLASS OF 2024
VOICE OF DEMOCRACY SCHOLARSHIP
Established in 1947, our Voice of Democracy audio-essay program provides high school students with the unique opportunity to express themselves in regards to a democratic and patriotic-themed recorded essay. Each year, nearly 25,000 ninth through 12th grade students from across the country enter to win their share of more than $1 million in educational scholarships and incentives awarded through the program.
The national first place winner receives a $35,000 scholarship paid directly to the recipient’s American university, college or vocational/technical school. A complete list of other national scholarships range from $1,000-$21,000, and the first place winner from each VFW Department (state) wins at least a scholarship of $1,000. Before submitting your essay, read the rules and eligibility requirements, and find your sponsoring local VFW Post as applications must be turned in by midnight, Oct. 31.

JACK KENT COOKE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The Cooke College Scholarship Program is an undergraduate scholarship program available to high-achieving high school seniors with financial need who seek to attend and graduate from the nation's best four-year colleges and universities.
The Cooke College Scholarship Program application is currently open and will close on November 16, 2023 at midnight in the applicant’s time zone.
Each award is intended to cover a significant share of the student’s educational experience – including tuition, living expenses, books and required fees. Awards vary by individual, based on the cost of tuition as well as other grants or scholarships they may receive. This highly competitive scholarship includes:
- Up to $55,000 per year to attend a four-year accredited undergraduate school.
- Ability to pursue any area of study.
- Personal advising about selecting a college and navigating financial aid.
- Multifaceted advising about how to transition to college and maximize the student experience.
10 WORDS or LESS SCHOLARSHIP
To be eligible for the 10 Words or Less Scholarship a student must:
A) Be between the ages of 14-25 who will be attending school in the Fall of 2024.
B) Be attending a school in the US or Canada in the Fall of 2024.
ODENZA MARKETING GROUP SCHOLARSHIP
To be eligible for the Odenza Marketing Group Scholarship a student must:
1) Be between the ages of 16 and 25 on the day of the deadline.
2) Submit answers to the essay questions, which can be found on the application page, prior to the deadline.
3) Have at least one full year of post-secondary studies remaining at the time of the award. (Current High School Students are also eligible.)
4) Have a GPA of 2.5 or greater.
5) Be a citizen of the United States or Canada.
The scholarship winner will be announced roughly six weeks after the deadline and will be posted on this website immediately after. All applications must be received by 11:59 pm ET on the day of the deadline. No late applications will be reviewed.

New Jersey State Golf Association Caddie Scholarship
The New Jersey State Golf Association (NJSGA) Caddie Scholarship is available to qualified applicants who have caddied at a participating NJSGA club for at least two seasons. Full-time attendance as an undergraduate at an institution of higher education accredited by the U.S. Department of Education is required. Applicants must show scholastic achievement, substantial length and quality of service as a caddie, financial need and must provide SAT scores. Qualities of character and leadership will also be considered.
The NJSGA Caddie Scholarship Foundation has been a shining light for over 74 years in providing financial assistance to deserving member club caddies pursuing higher education. Since 1947, it has provided more than $16 million in college scholarship awards to nearly 3,100 caddies. Caddie scholars are selected based on their academic performance, financial need, and length and quality of service as a caddie. Scholarships are renewable for up to four years of undergraduate study.

STAND UP TO DISTRACTED DRIVING SCHOLARSHIP
Distracted driving, including due to texting and other cell phone use, is a serious issue that leads to hundreds of thousands of accidents and injuries in the United States each year. The problem is especially prominent among teen and young adult drivers, and teens are also at a greater risk of being the victim of a distracted driving accident.
At Kanoski Bresney, we want to support students who do their part to fight the problem of distracted driving. Through the Kansoki Bresney Stand Up to Distracted Driving Scholarship program, we are offering five scholarships, in the amount of $1,000 each, to students in the U.S. who are pursuing higher education at the undergraduate or graduate level.
Who is Eligible to Apply?
You are eligible for the Kanoski Bresney Stand Up to Distracted Driving Scholarship if the following are true:
- You are currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited U.S. college or university, and your education will continue through at least the Spring 2024 semester.
OR
- You are a high school senior who will be starting your college or university education in Spring 2024.
- You are a U.S. citizen.
- You have a current overall GPA of at least 3.0.
Application Instructions:
In order to be considered for the scholarship, you must submit a 1,000-word essay responding to the following prompt:
How has distracted driving affected your life? What ideas do you have to raise awareness of the dangers of distracted driving and prevent this behavior among young drivers?
Your essay should be double-spaced, with 12-point font and one-inch margins, and saved as a .doc, .docx, or .pdf file with a file name that includes your first and last name.
In addition to your essay, you will need to submit a current academic transcript, contact information including your name, phone number, address, and email address, and a professional photograph of yourself.

THE NEW JERSEY STATE SOCIETY OF THE DAUGHTERS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION (DAR) SCHOLARSHIPS

About: The Betty Bradbury Vail Scholarship is awarded to a high school senior in need of financial assistance to continue their education. This scholarship is open to U.S. citizens who plan to major in Political Science, History, Government or Economics at a college or university in the United States. The amount awarded is $2,000.

The New Jersey State Society DAR Scholarship is awarded to a high school senior in need of financial assistance who has a demonstrated interest in education, especially American history, historic preservation, or community service. The amount awarded is $1,000.
