Destiny Updates
New Library Database, Destiny, is coming!
Yesterday, we set the dates with the Project Manager of Follett Destiny, if all goes as scheduled we should be LIVE with the new system starting by November 15th.
All of our district library staff will have to be trained on how to use all of the features of Destiny, and unfortunately, that means closing the libraries so that we can learn together. Sorry for any inconvenience this might cause, but I think once the system is in place, you will see the value.
All libraries will be closed 7:30-noon on Tuesday, November 10th.
Next steps will be for me to visit all of the common planning time sessions in the last two weeks of November to show teachers the many features as they might relate to content areas, and to schedule sessions to start training the students throughout December and January.
Attention Middle School Science
On October 27, join Discovery Education and special guest, EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy, for a LIVE virtual discussion to celebrate National ENERGY STAR® Day.
As the head of the Environmental Protection Agency, Administrator McCarthy's job is to find common sense ways to protect our health and the environment. During our live event, she will answer your questions about the importance of energy efficiency, how our energy use today affects climate change, and what we can do to help protect our climate for years to come.
Join us as we demonstrate the science behind how energy is generated and how innovative ENERGY STAR®certified products make it easier for us to save energy in our every day lives.
Download Pre and Post Classroom Activities to prepare for the event.
Take the ENERGY STAR Pledge and begin energy saving actions in your school and home today.
