Oakland Counseling Association
January 2022
The Oakland Counseling Association is a not-for-profit, professional and educational organization that is dedicated to the growth and enhancement of the counseling profession.
Mission
The mission of the Oakland Counseling Association is to enhance the quality of life in
Oakland County by promoting the development of professional counselors, advancing the
counseling profession and using the profession and practice of counseling to promote respect for human dignity and diversity.
It is with mixed emotions that we greet you in the new year. On one hand, we are inspired by our continued mission to support counselors and excited about the possibilites that exist for 2022. On the other hand, our enthusiam is tempered by grief and concern as our colleagues in Oxford and throughout the county struggle to find a sense of safety and normalcy after another year of unique challenges and one that ended in tragedy.
It is with these competing feelings that we welcome you to 2022. We hope that you are well and we are grateful for your service to the students and families in our communities.
