A MESSAGE FROM MRS. CAUDILL
What an incredible night we had celebrating student leadership at Amerman! At Tuesday's BOE meeting we had students in second through fifth grade share how our student Aspire, Achieve and Amaze every day! Our students led three separate breakout sessions. Mrs. Willerer's second graders showed how they do welcoming/sharing circles (a tenet of restorative practices). Third graders from Mrs. Morse and Mrs. Albulov's class shared their leadership binders and how they set goals for themselves. Additionally, several fourth and fifth grade students explained how the record, edit, share our morning announcements. We ended our presentation by answering questions by board members. As a staff we often say there is just something special about Amerman. Our AMAZING kiddos showed us exactly why that it true!
Stay well,
Devon Caudill

The moms of Winchester Elementary are throwing their 2nd annual Mom Prom! It’s a ladies night out for charity in which women wear their old prom gowns, bridesmaids dresses, or formals and dance the night away for a worthy cause. Grab some friends, gather your gowns, put on a dress (old or new!) and join in for a fun night of fundraising. LEADER IN ME DECEMBER FOCUS - HABIT 3: PUT FIRST THINGS FIRST
Work First, Then Play!
What this means: Focus on what is important, schedule the important things first. Don’t be a dreamer - stay focused!
“I spend my time on things that are most important.”
“I say no to things I know I should not do.”
“I set priorities, make a schedule, and follow my plan.”
“I am disciplined and organized.”
How can I do this in my life?
1. Do your homework as soon as you come home from school.
2. Do something you have been putting off for a long time.
3. Think about your most important responsibilities. Do them first.
Great Books for Habit #3- Put First Things First
The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle
Pokey and the Spelling Test by Sean Covey
How the Grinch Stole Christmas by Dr. Seuss
Whistle for Willie by Ezra Jack Keats
Froggy Gets Dressed by Jonathan London
The Little Red Hen by Paul Galdone

SPOTLIGHT ON OUR AMERMAN BOCATS
Winter Landscapes
Mrs. McMaster's KDG students learned about the 3 parts of landscape in art. Mrs. Rohrhoff taught them about the background, foreground and the horizon line.
Compare and Contrast
Ms. Henderson's 4th graders read three different gingerbread stories. Then they completed a venn diagram on how they were the same and how they were different.
Would you Rather?
Students in Mrs. Morse's 3rd grade class needed to write if they would rather be a student or a teacher. They had to provide three reasons for their choice.
