General Information

  • Tuesday March 14 is an early release day. Students will be dismissed at noon.
  • You can view updates to the 2023-2024 academic calendar here.
  • Cabarrus County Schools will host a Career Fair Saturday, April 1 from 10:00-12:00 at Harold E. Winkler Middle School. If you are interested in learning about the event you can view more information here.
  • If your child's method of transportation changes please reach out to our front office to communicate the change. Our teachers may not always check their email or Dojo messages before the end of the day.
  • If you plan to come for lunch please review the reminders below:

    • All lunch visitors should sign in at the front office. You will need your driver's license to sign in.

    • Once signed in you will receive a visitor name badge. The visitor’s name badge should be worn at all times while in the building. This allows our staff to see that you have checked in at the office and are approved to be in the building during that time.

    • Visitors will be allowed to walk to the cafeteria 5 minutes before your child’s lunch time. Once lunch is over all lunch visitors should sign out in the front office. Visitors are not permitted to walk through the building or back to the classroom during other parts of the day.

    • We have labeled guest tables in the cafeteria for all lunch visitors to sit with their child.

    • All lunch visitors should be listed as a guardian or emergency contact for the student in powerschool. If someone other than those individuals will be visiting for lunch, the teacher should receive written permission from the parent/guardian. Students may not bring a friend to join with their visitor.

Volunteer Background Checks
If you are interested in being a chaperone for a field trip this school year or volunteering in the building please complete the background check form. *Note that it may take 2-3 weeks for the request to be processed.
Car Rider Registration Form
If your child is a car rider please complete this form. A tag to be used in the car line will be sent home with your child following completion of the form.

Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten registration is now open! Please see below for in person registration information. You can also find more information on the district website here.

Save the Date

We hope you and your family will join us for our Literacy Luau Family Night Tuesday April 4 from 5:00-7:00 for a night full of literacy games, book fair, food and more!

Meal Benefit Information

The free meal voucher that was available during the pandemic is no longer available. Students will need to qualify for meal benefits to receive free breakfast and free lunch. Breakfast will cost $1.40 and lunch will cost $2.85. If you have any questions or need assistance completing the form please contact our front office or a member of our Student Services team. Click on the button below to apply for free and reduced meal benefits.

We are encouraging all families to complete the application, even if you do not think you will qualify.

PTO Update

Join us Thursday, March 9 from 5-8 pm at Stars and Strikes Concord location! Our school earns 15% of sales, just remember to drop your receipts at the PTO table on your way out.

There are specials for our Roadrunner families as well!

  • Spirit Special #1 includes 2 hours of bowling on 1 lane with shoes, 1 one topping pizza, 1 pitcher of soda, and two $5 game cards for $49.99
  • Spirit Special #2 includes all of the above, plus four more $5 game cards for $59.99

Service Learning Service Projects

In honor of Dr. Seuss and Read Across America, our Service Learning encore classes will be participating in the service projects below.


  • K/1 = Collecting Cans of Tuna/Chicken for Food Pantry (One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish by Dr. Seuss)
  • 2nd/3rd = Creating Bookmarks for our Library!! They also get to take one home.
  • 4th/5th = Collecting food/treats for cats/dogs for the Cabarrus Humane Society
