Welcome to Richmond Hill Elementary! As a parent of five I understand the excitement and anxiety the first day of school brings. If you have any concerns about your child, please let us know. It is so important to me that your child feels safe, secure, and special.

We are excited about another new school year and I can't wait to see you at Open House on Monday, August 2nd, from 4-6 p.m. We have been planning, cleaning, and preparing for our students. Your child's teacher will call before Open House to make sure you know where your class is located. We hope everyone can attend this special event. The first day of school is Tuesday, August 3rd and school starts at 9:00 a.m.

If you are only coming to RHPS for DROP-OFF & PICK-UP:

Entering from Constitution Way

o Turn right on to Maple St.

o Turn right onto the drive behind RHPS

o Morning drop off/ afternoon pick-up will be on the left hand side of the car

o Traffic will exit by taking a right onto Frances Meeks Way

Entering from Ivey St. or Cherry St.

o Turn right on to Linwood Ave

o Turn left on to Maple St.

o Turn right onto the drive behind RHPS

o Morning drop off/ afternoon pick-up will be on the left hand side of the car

o Traffic will exit by taking a right onto Frances Meeks Way

If you are coming to RHES AND/OR GWC DROP-OFF & PICK-UP:

o All traffic will enter Frances Meeks Way

o Drive past the entrances of RHES/GWC towards the back of RHES/GWC

o Morning drop off/ afternoon pick-up will be on the right hand side of the car

o After morning pick-up/ afternoon drop-off, traffic will proceed to Maple St. to exit on either Constitution Way, Ivey St. or Cherry St.

If you are coming to RHES/GWC and RHPS DROP-OFF & PICK-UP:

o All traffic will enter Frances Meeks Way

o Drive past the entrances of RHES/GWC towards the back of RHES/GWC

o Morning drop off/ afternoon pick-up will be on the right-hand side of the car at RHES/ GWC

o Proceed to Maple St.; turn left at the drive behind RHPS

o Morning drop off/ afternoon pick-up will be on the left-hand side of the car

o Traffic will exit by taking right onto Frances Meeks Way.

School meals will remain free for all students for the 2021-2022 school year. Breakfast is served between 8:30am and 8:50am each day in the cafeteria. During lunch, extra items such as chips and snacks are available for purchase. Please visit www.myschoolbucks.com if you wish to preload money to your child’s account.

Richmond Hill Elementary is excited to welcome back our students to the 2021-2022 school year. All Bryan County Schools will host an in-person Open House as we prepare for another successful school year. Please take advantage of this time to familiarize your child with their classroom, teacher, and school building. This will help prepare them for a smooth first day. Please note the following school procedures:

• First Day of School- Students will report to their homeroom class independently on the first day of school. We will continue the same drop-off routine used last year. If you plan to bring your child on the first day of school, please utilize the carline.




• Lunch Guests and Volunteers- We will follow the same procedures for lunch guests as last school year. Due to safety, we will be unable to accommodate lunch guests. However, we are very excited to have the opportunity to welcome volunteers back into our buildings for the 2021-2022 school year. Volunteers are a crucial part of what we do each day, and we will be able to start scheduling volunteers after Labor Day. We will share information regarding volunteer orientations in the near future. An orientation is a required component prior to being able to volunteer at any Bryan County school.
