November Parent-Teacher Conferences
Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on Wednesday, November 25th.
There will be no school for students.
If you need to meet with me before or after Parent-Teacher Conferences, please call or email cvaughn@egsd.net.
In preparing for your conference, please consider some helpful information you might share about your child, including his/her:
Reaction to school,
Previous school experiences,
Home responsibilities,
Recent changes in the family or household,
Interests or hobbies outside of school,
Special needs such as allergies or medications.
Additional questions you might consider asking your child’s teacher include:
What skills and knowledge will my child be expected to master this year?
Are there challenging academic standards in place at this school? How can I access them?
How are grades determined?
How do you accommodate for differences in learning?
Please remember to arrive promptly or a few minutes early. Please be mindful of the time since conferences have been scheduled to accommodate all parents in the classroom.
Most of all, enjoy your visit!
There will be a box available in the foyer for Community Partnership snack donations. We would appreciate donations of any of the following:
Goldfish crackers, raisins, pretzels, snack size baggies.
Thank you for all you do to support the children of Frenchtown!

Frenchtown’s Holiday Community Outreach
Frenchtown faculty and staff will once again be “adopting” families over the holidays. We will be assisting families in making their holidays merry and bright! If you are in need or know of a family that might benefit from this assistance, please call Mrs. Vaughn at 884-4713.
We will soon be asking for donations of new toys, scarves, mittens, books, art supplies, gas and store gift cards, gift wrapping supplies, etc... so families can come in to a specially prepared "store" to select and wrap gifts for their loved ones. Stay tuned for more information!
Peace and joy to each of you!
Frenchtown Extended Learning Opportunities
Vision Statement
Frenchtown School will be known as a school where
Students develop independence and cooperation through active participation in inquiry-based, hands-on activities. Students are confident, successful learners who engage in diverse learning experiences.
The faculty uses varied, research based instructional strategies. Through collaboration and shared responsibility, faculty and staff ensure that instruction is focused on the needs of each child and that equitable opportunities exist for all academic and enrichment programs.
During our recent Data Days conversations, teams of teachers met to answer the essential questions:
What do we want children to learn?
How will we know that they've learned?
How do we respond when students fall below expected levels of proficiency?
How do we respond when students perform above expected benchmarks?
To that end, we have created differentiated ELA and Math Extended Learning opportunities for children achieving above expected benchmarks. Although classroom teachers use every opportunity to differentiate learning opportunities within the classroom, this will be an extension of the content which is offered.
Using multiple points of data, students have been selected to participate in flexible extension groups with Ms. Hayes or Mrs. Cooper. These groups will run from November-January. Once we have our next round of data to review in January, these groups may change.
If your child will be participating in an Extended Learning group, your child's teacher will be in touch with you.
