1. Winter Break: No School
In the spirit of this holiday season, We want to extend our gratitude and thanks to all of you for everything you do to support our Boston Prep Community. As the upcoming holiday season is upon us, it is our sincere wish for good health and well being to all of you. Please stay safe and enjoy your break!
Boston Prep will be closed for Winter Break from:
Friday, December 23 - Monday January 2.
Classes resume on Tuesday, January 3, 2023!
2. Winter Festival and Potluck
iThe Winter Festival (formerly known as Larentalia) is an annual Boston Prep tradition, celebrated on the last day before winter break every year. This exciting day is one of joy and feasting. Students and staff are asked to contribute a food item to the annual potluck feast. Students will sign up in their homeroom or house to indicate which food item they will be providing. Please speak to your student to coordinate your family’s contribution. If you have questions, reach out to your student’s advisor. This event is for students and team members only; it is closed to the public
3. No Mask Guidance
Following the guidance of the Boston Public Health Commission, we are not currently mandating that masks be worn in the school building; however, following Winter Break we highly encourage students and staff to wear masks to protect themselves and the community from the spread of COVID-19, the flu, and other viral illnesses.
4. Snow Day Protocol
As a reminder, Boston Prep follows the decision of Boston Public Schools regarding weather related closures. You can also check this site out for details: https://www.boston25news.com/weather/school-closings/
5. Early Dismissal Update
Students should be in school for the entire duration of the school day. Early dismissals should only occur in the event of an emergency. All dismissals require parent/guardian approval.
Students who are leaving school early without a parent must have a written note or email from a parent or guardian explaining when and why they must leave. A phone call will not be accepted as a means of dismissing a student early from school.
The note should be provided to school administrators to verify and approve the reason for the early dismissal.
If a student does not have a note, a parent/guardian will have to come pick up the student. Early dismissals will be excused for the same reasons outlined above for excused absences.
Students must be dismissed from the main office and must check in with the staff member on duty there before leaving.
A student who is 18 years of age or older must submit a written notice to the Principal (or designee) to request an early dismissal. This written request must be verified by the Principal or his/her designee before the student will be dismissed from school. In order for these early dismissals to be excused, the student’s parents must also sign the early dismissal note.
6. SY24 Enrollment Application is NOW OPEN!
