Honor Roll
Congratulations to students who achieved Honor Roll status based on their first semester grades. Students received their Honor Roll Certificate this week.
To qualify for School Honor Roll, a student must earn at least a 3.0 G.P.A. with no grade less than a “C.” To be eligible for High Honor Roll, a student must earn at least a 3.5 G.P.A. with no grade less than a “C.” To qualify for the Principal’s Honor Roll, a student must earn a 4.0 G.P.A. or above with no grade less than a “C.” For the semester ending on December 2022, 1,152 students achieved Honor Roll status: 325 qualified for School Honor Roll, 448 achieved High Honor Roll, and 379 earned Principal’s Honor Roll. Students who continue to earn Honor Roll status can be eligible for membership in the California Scholarship Federation and National Honor Society, as well as many other scholarships and awards.
Math techniques
Students in Ms. Co’s class discovered the graphs of sine and cosine through using yarn and pasta. This allowed them to make connections with what they already knew and what they were going to create.
Performance Groups during Ready, Set, Rowland!
Rowland High School's performance groups showcased their programs during Ready, Set, Rowland! Parents were able to enjoy different groups during the evening event.

FBLA Winners at Section Competition
Rowland High Future Business Leaders of America “FBLA” Chapter wins awards at the Southern Section Conference on February 11, 2023 at Valencia High School in Placentia.
23 schools attended sending 530 competitors to the conference which was the largest FBLA Section Conference in the state.
The following students qualified to compete at the state conference on April 27-30 in Sacramento (some of them qualified for two events)
Entrepreneurship Team - 1st place: Ethan Higuchi, Joshua Kim, and Allen Li.
Marketing Team - 2nd place: William Fan, Jason Kha, and Aaron Zhu.
International Business Team - 4th place: Steven Tomlinson and Lance Wu.
Business Management Team - 6th place: Steven Tomlinson and Lance Wu.
Supply Chain Management: Allen Li - 1st place and Katelyn Chi - 4th place.
Personal Finance: Dylan Minarto - 2nd place.
Securities and Investments: Zhuolin Kuang - 2nd place, and Edward Lai - 4th place.
Introduction to Information Technology: Arthur Liang - 2nd place.
Introduction to Event Planning: Allison Chieh - 3rd place.
Business Calculations: Edward Lai - 4th place.
Introduction to Finance Math: Joshua Kim - 4th place.
Introduction to Business Concepts: Avery Chu - 5th place.
Others who placed in the top ten in their events:
Accounting 1: Dylan Minarto - 7th place, and Clarissa Beltran - 9th place.
Introduction to Business Procedures: Avery Chu - 10th place.
Job Interview: Karen Cao - 5th place.
Public Speaking: Luke Punongbayan - 10th place.
Dodgeball Winners
Many teams competed all week and all showed their great skill. In the end, BDD was the runner-up and Latinos took away the win. Both teams got to play against the teachers' team!
Student Activities
Renaissance Assembly
This assembly is to recognize students for academic excellence and performance. In order to attend, a student must submit an application and meet the following requirements:
- Have a 2.5 GPA or higher
- Have no D's or F's
- Or have a .5 improvement on their total GPA
Graduation Tickets
Each senior will receive 2 free tickets if in attendance for the entire senior day activity on May 26th.
Tickets are on sale now. You can purchase up to 4 additional tickets for $5.00 each in the ASB Office. These tickets will be on sale until Friday, May 19, 2023.
You can request additional tickets by being placed on a waiting list by Friday, May 19, 2023. If additional tickets are available, seniors who are on the waiting list will be able to start purchasing additional tickets on Tuesday, May 30, 2023. Not all requests will be granted.
Rowland Volleyball's annual Spring Youth Camp is back!
Join us starting on Tuesday, February 21 - 24 to learn or advance your volleyball skills. Camp is open to all ages 6-14 with beginner-advanced levels available. If you have any questions or would like additional information, please contact Head Coach Valerie Varela at vvarela@rowlandschools.org.

🔔 Senior Financial Aid Reminder 🔔
- Complete the 2023-24 Financial Aid Application (FAFSA or CA Dream Act) to be considered for free money to help pay for college expenses. Get assistance daily in the College & Career Center, before school, during lunchtime, and after school, Monday/Tuesday/ Wednesday/Friday (7:45am-4pm) and Thursday (8:30am-4:45pm). The FAFSA and CADAA are due March 2nd.
