And We're Off!
Thank you for your support as we start off this school year. I know the changing times can bring uncertainty and some anxiety for your children. We are creating a very safe environment and appreciate your trust in us.
We encourage communication. If you have a question or concern, please see the below document (also included in this year's district calendar) to help field it to the right person/office. Thank you!
A.W. Becker Open House
The schedule for teachers meeting virtually will be as follows:
6:00 PM - 6:30 PM Grades 1 and 2
6:15 PM - 6:45 PM Any specials or support staff
6:30 PM - 7:00 PM Grades 3 through 5
The slideshow will be posted on our website after the event if you are not able to attend. We hope to "see" you next Thursday evening!
Contact Tracing/Mandatory Quarantine
This is the Albany County Department of Health document we follow for contact tracing. Note that there may be some students in a classroom placed in quarantine while others are not. The same is true for a school bus.
If your child is deemed a positive contact, the school will notify you with the details. The Department of Health will follow with the official quarantine order. You should provide a copy of the quarantine release to return to school.
If your child is placed in quarantine due to a non-school exposure or tests positive for COVID-19, please let us know. Our goal is to keep everyone in-person this year. Thank you for your cooperation and help in this matter.
Arrival/Dismissal
School Hours 9:00 am - 3:30 pm (M-Th); 9:00 am - 3:00 (F)
Student Drop Off/Pick Up Parent drop-off is at 8:55 AM on the side of the building. Parent pick-up begins at 3:05 PM Monday through Thursday and 2:35 PM on Fridays on the side of the building. Similar to last year, we are using car tags. Parents are asked to stay in their car during the process. Car tags are available in the main office. If you are planning on regularly picking up your child, a car tag is required. Please stop by with an ID to sign up for one.
Safety Students should be loading/exiting cars on the passenger side of vehicles. Please be cautious when pulling around vehicles to exit the parking lot as well as watching out for our buses. In both the morning and the afternoon, we have school buses crossing the intersection to the school building.
