LRP Family Update
Back to School 2023
A Message from Mrs. Parent
Hello LRP Families,
Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! My name is Ashley Parent, and I am the principal at the Primary School. Although I am new to the Primary building, LR is not new to me. I am an LR grad, and I worked for the district for several years, most of which were spent teaching at the Elementary building. I spent the last two years as principal of a neighboring district elementary school, and I am so excited to be back home at LR this year!
We had a great turnout for Open House last night! Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedules to come see the school and meet your child's teacher. Everyone here has been hard at work preparing for the new school year, and it was wonderful to see the hallways filled with smiling faces last night.
School begins on Monday, August 21st. The doors open at 8:20, and class begins at 8:40. If your child plans to eat breakfast at school, being at school by 8:25 is highly encouraged. More information about the school year is detailed below in this newsletter.
I am looking forward to partnering with you to make this a successful school year for your child.
Sincerely,
Ashley Parent
Logan-Rogersville Primary Principal

Drop Off / Pick Up Procedures
All students, preschool through first grade, will be dropped off and picked up at the north entrance of the building. Buses will unload/load near the main building entrance on the west side of the building. Please note the change in pick up and drop off locations this year due to building construction.
We will begin morning drop-off at 8:20. Please do not let your child leave your car until the teacher on duty at 8:20 starts to dismiss students. If students arrive past the 8:40 tardy bell, guardians must walk their child in the front entrance of the building to check him/her in with the office staff.
During student pick-up, drivers must show a car pick-up tag with the student’s name. If you don’t have a tag, you will need to park and come into the office to pick up your child. Please be prepared to show identification to verify you are on the student’s pick up list.
If you have a change in transportation, please communicate with your child’s teacher via Seesaw before 3:00pm. If you need to change transportation after 3:00pm, please contact the school office at 417.881.2947. Changes in dismissal plans after 3:15pm will only be taken on an emergency basis.
Please watch this video to see how the car line works.
Before / After School CatCare
Both the before and after school CatCare programs will take place at the Primary School this year. The before school program runs from 7:00-8:20am and is $2.00/day. The after school program runs from 3:40-6:00pm and is $6.00/day. If students arrive before 8:20, they must go to the before school program and will be charged $2.00/day.
CatCare balances and credits will be carried over from summer school and last school year. If you are interested in sending your child to CatCare, registration forms are located on the school website under “Parent Resources”. If you have any questions regarding CatCare, you can contact Melissa Roberts, the supervising administrator for the Primary CatCare program at mroberts@logrogstudents.net.

Free and reduced lunch forms were mailed to every family in our district. If you did not receive a form, please stop by our office to pick up the necessary paperwork. Each family that turns in their free/reduced application is entered into a drawing for a $200 gas card giveaway!
Attendance Policy
All students are encouraged to attend school each day, unless they are ill or otherwise excused. Most learning activities at the Primary School are hands-on and performance based. Skills learned during these times cannot be sent home or completed in worksheet form.
Our early childhood program has a waiting list of students wanting to attend preschool. If your child is not able to attend school regularly, he/she will be dropped from our program to open up a spot for a student on our waiting list.
School Store
The school store is a convenient way to make LR purchases. You can use the site to pay lunch/milk balances, to purchase your child's class shirt, or to purchase a shirt from our T-Shirt Fundraiser. The credit card processing fee is waived for the month of August.
