Welcome back to our Stage 3 campers. There were many tired eyes (teachers included) on Friday afternoon when they returned. From all accounts the students had a fantastic time visiting the many attractions in Canberra. Thank you to Mr Murphy, Miss Baker, Mrs Whittaker and Miss Chris for giving up their days and nights to make the excursion possible. Thank you also to the students - all teachers reported that they behaved exceptionally well, and even went to sleep when they were told!
Swim Scheme for our Year 2 and 3 students begins this week. Fingers crossed that they get some nice weather for their time in the pool. Please ensure all students wear their swimming costume and sun cream to school, and bring a towel and the necessary items to change into when they are finished swimming.
Thank you to all families who have sent in sponsorship money for the SPARTAN event. We are still waiting on a few more people to return their money, and can then announce the final total raised. It has been a very successful event so far! Winners of the girl and boy 'most money raised' prizes, and the prize for the class that raised the most, will be announced at Wednesday's assembly. I must apologise to Craig Healey - in last week's newsletter I recorded a list of people to thank but omitted Craig's name from the list. Craig was responsible for running the BBQ on the day, including chasing around after over 200 bread rolls when our order went astray. Thanks Craig for all of your effort and for putting on a great sausage sizzle.
Ms Hoskins
Acting Principal
Don't forget the important events this week:
* Swim Scheme begins - students involved should wear cossie and suncream to school, and bring towel
* PSSA training and games resume this week

- Wear a school hat outside
- Try new things

2016 Update
2016 has been our most successful year to date for the Banksmeadow PS Band Program, with consistently solid and well received performances throughout the year. Highlights so far include the Senior Band’s achievement of a Silver Award at the Kogarah Bandfest and the entire band program’s performance at the Daceyville Big Band Bash, performing a more challenging repertoire selection.

Band Conductor
