Welcome to our CTS Snapshot - a weekly celebration update. We are delighted to share with parents and carers alike student triumphs at Corby Technical School. We are proud of every student and every success they have - please feel free to share with us any achievements they might have.

Skills Show - Birmingham
Year 10 students will attend the Skills Show at the NEC in Birmingham next week. The Skills Show is the nation’s largest skills and careers event that helps to shape the future of a new generation.
Engineering in Education Scheme
A group of our Year 12 students visited TATA Steel this week for the Engineering in Education Scheme. The project is a real life engineering project set by TATA steel and mentored by one of their Production Engineers.
Remembrance Ceremony
Corby Technical School students received berets and awards at a ceremony held by the Brooke Weston Trust Combined Cadet Force. The event comprised a Remembrance ceremony and parade. It was attended by parents and Trust leaders, including CEO, Dr Andrew Campbell.

- Mr Harley has nominated 8S who had their first food & nutrition lesson on Wednesday, they all demonstrated that the can work safety in a kitchen and made savoury vegetable rice from scratch. Well done!
- Miss Fenner has nominated Tia and Keali 11T for their detailed and extensive notes in English Literature and also Beate 11S for her independence and effort in English Literature.
- Mr Cox has nominated Dylan 9T and Jake 9C for their excellent efforts in Drama.
- Mr Crook has nominated Year 7 STEM for designing a visual aid for the Science Museum to show how levers perform in the human body.
- Mr Rogers has nominated Rohan 9C for scoring 2 tries in Rugby and Grace 8C for her efforts in the girls Basketball.
Mr Gourlay would like to say Well Done to Aiden Caughey 10T and to Curtis 11S and Jamie 11T for their excellent contribution in IT.
Mr Bidwell would like to nominate Leon 7CO for excellent detailed explainations in Geography and Bethany 9C for her detailed work and commitment to learning.
Miss Basra has nominated Tamzin 7SW for making a concentrated effort in English and
Lukas 8T who always gets involved and contributes thoughtfully in lessons.
Celebration of Student Work
Year 7 - Design and Technology
Students completed their first DT project involving designing merchandise for a museum exhibiting the work of architect Zaha Hadid. This included the badge design and the packaging.
Anti-Bullying Week
This week CTS are supporting anti-bullying week, a campaign run by the Anti-Bullying Alliance to raise awareness on bullying and encourage all children, teachers and parents to take action on bullying throughout the year.
Year 7 - STEM
Year 7 STEM students were tasked with designing a visual aid for the Science Museum to show how levers perform in the human body. Pictured is the design by Amelia.
Reminders:
- Year 10 Students will be attending the Skills Show on Thursday 16th November - please ensure you have returned the reply slip to school reception
- Year 12 Progress Evening will be held on Wednesday 15th November, letters will be sent home with students.
