Excellence Everywhere
Language Scholarship Award
Congratulations to JCHS Junior Vandita Poluru, the 2022 recipient of the Willowcroft Scholarship. This award provides a four-week study abroad opportunity for Vandita in France, where she will be immersed in the language and culture she has been studying for the past five years. In addition to that, her teacher Madame Molesky receives a cash prize. We are so proud of your accomplishments, Vandita, and are grateful to have Ms. Molesky on staff!
MAGIC Makers
Congratulations to Mr. Andrew Boswell and Ms. Stephanie Ryan for being selected as MAGIC Makers at our December faculty meeting!
Coach Bos was recognized for his great work in overseeing the weight room renovations. From removing old equipment to overseeing numerous setbacks with installation to managing the research, planning, and reviewing of materials, he served our school community by giving countless hours to this project. We are so appreciative of the space he helped create for our student athletes.
Ms. Ryan makes meaningful connections with her students in the classroom, on the court as one of our basketball coaches, and in the clubs she sponsors. She uses her planning blocks to remediate and reassess students to keep them on track. She's a great coworker, making everyone feel welcome, and eagerly participates in our schoolwide competitions.
Counseling
Academic Advising for the 2023-24 school year will begin when we return from winter break! Students will receive information in advisory as well as from counselors; be sure to reach out to your counselor and teachers with questions.
LCPS's Annual Mental Health and Wellness Conference will take place January 28 at Lightridge High School (8:30am-12:30pm). Plan to join county specialists that day to learn about challenges that impact student well-being and put them at rish for substance abuse while also learning how to support your student in healthy ways.
PTSA
A tremendous THANK YOU to the PTSA for a delicious lunch and cookie celebration on December 16. Our staff felt the love and festive send off to winter break.
