CVCC COVID POLICY REMINDER

Any student or staff experiencing a fever of 100.0 °F or higher should not be in school. Students and/or staff will be sent home if experiencing a fever at or above 100.0 °F.
Any student or staff experiencing mild symptoms may consider taking a test. School nurses will NOT administer tests in school.

Tests will be available to schools for student and staff access.

Testing is not a requirement for remaining at school.

If the symptoms are determined by the school nurse to be impacting the person’s ability to participate in their normal activities at school, the nurse will send them home, regardless of temperature or test status.

If any student is not well enough to learn or participate in their learning, regardless of testing for COVID-19, they will be sent home. A student being sent home due to illness may be asked to wear a mask while awaiting pick up. While awaiting pick up, the student will be kept in the nurse’s office.

If a student or staff tests positive for COVID-19, they should remain home and away from others.

A person testing positive should remain home for five days from the positive test day. The individual may return on day 6 as long as they wear a mask until they have reached 10 days post-positive test.

If experiencing a fever at or above 100.0 °F, or symptoms have not improved, the person will need to remain at home after day five.

Staff and students are permitted to exercise their own or their family’s decision-making to wear a mask in school settings, as long as they are not within the 10 days after a positive test. (School staff will not be responsible for enforcing a family's decision to have their child's mask.)

If staff or students experience vomiting or diarrhea, they need to remain home for 24 hours after the last episode of vomiting/diarrhea.

Baking Arts Students finished up their lean yeast dough unit with 6-strand braided Challah.

1/23 - 1/24: SHS is closed, however, CVCC is in session. Students are expected to attend their CVCC program classes.

UPDATES & REQUESTS

1. Towns with 2-hour Delays

CVCC honors the delays as they happen in your community. Please have your students ride the sending school bus from your school of origin to CVCC. Any student arriving with the bus will not be considered late. We prefer students not to drive to school when roads are considered unsafe in your community. If students choose to drive, they may still follow the 2-hour delay guidelines. If they are significantly later than the bus from the school of origin, they will be considered late.

2. Reminder About School Closings

If your student's school is closed, they do not have to attend CVCC. The school is closed for a reason. If the weather is bad in your area and your school is closed please do not have your student drive to school.
