Allen Eagle Escadrille TWIB Notes

The Stephen F. Austin University Wind Ensemble will have a clinic/concert this Thursday, Feb 22nd from 4:30-5:30pm in the AHS Multi-Purpose Room (MPR). The clinic will be free and open to all students. Advanced Music students are encouraged to complete a concert critique through this clinic/concert.

Congratulations to Varsity and JV Red for their performance at WGI Dallas this weekend. Special kudos to JV Red for earning 2nd in Scholastic Regional A Finals!

This week's contest will be at Wylie High School. The current schedule can be found HERE. The Allen performances are:

• JV Blue: 2:32pm
• JV Red: 6:32pm
• Varsity: 8:10pm

The AHS master schedule is being constructed based on our band classes. There will not be class conflicts with Dual Credit and STEAM classes. Do not assume that next year's band, Dual credit, or STEAM classes are the same class periods as this year. Please let Dr. Obado know if your name is not listed and planning on being in band next year.

Congratulations to everyone that participated in the UIL Solo & Ensemble contest. The Allen Band earned 149 Division 1 Medals! CLICK HERE for the results link. Your director will have your sheets abd medals (if applicable) for you in your band class this week.

Please check the results carefully. If your results show DNA and you were at the contest, please email Dr. Obado.

The band staff is already preparing for the 2024 marching season. See image below for the required Spring and Summer required events.

If you are interested in trying out for drum major or SLT, we will begin our training/workshops after Spring Break. They will be held (mostly) on Wednesdays from 4:30pm-6pm in the AHS Band Hall. The first 45 minutes will be general leadership/SLT training and the second 45 minutes will be specific training for drum majors. AHS & LFC Wind Ensembles will be required to attend the first 45 minutes of the SLT workshops as part of their Musicianship Class.
