Eyeglasses
This is an invention that was made to help people who can't see be able to see.
Who discovered eyeglasses?
It is not said who first discovered glasses, but it is said that people who needed glasses started to make their own. Normal people would improvise.
Who created eyeglasses?
We don't know who first invented the glasses, but here are a few people who made prototypes of them.
Salvino D'Armate
Benjamin Franklin
The Roman Emperor Nero
What year did eyeglasses originate?
1285 is one of the dates I found, but the actual date is not known. They have been believed to be around for much longer.
What were the eyeglasses like and how did they work in the Renaissance?
The frames of the glasses were at first made of metal or bone. The lenses were made of quartz because they could not make perfect lenses in glass.
The lenses would go over your eyes and would help fix farsightedness at the beginning.
Changes?
The lenses used to be made of quartz, now they are made of glass. The structure of the glasses used to be made of wood, metal, or rubber, now they are made of plastic. At first, the glasses didn't have the little legs to go over the ears and keep them on, now they do. People used to have to hold up their glasses.
