November 2023
A Note from the Principal
It's hard to believe, but the 1st Trimester has come to an end. So much has happened over the last month.
A sincere thank you to our dedicated School PTO for orchestrating the fantastic Fall Fest, Book Fair Week and Family Night, and Open Gym Night. Your hard work and commitment have enriched our school community, providing memorable experiences for both students and families. We appreciate all you do!
On October 31st, our wonderful parent volunteers made sure our students had fun during their classroom Halloween parties! Thank you, parent volunteers, for all you do! Strangely enough we held our Halloween Parade indoors that day due to freezing temperatures and snow. As the temperatures continue to drop, please remember to send your child(ren) to school with appropriate coats/jackets for recess and outdoor activities. Please keep in mind, students go outside for recess unless the temperature/wind chill is 10ºF or below.
On November 2nd, our 5th graders performed Rock Around the 50s to a packed house. It was amazing! Once again, Mrs. Jones' dedication and guidance nurtured students' musical talents and created a memorable experience for all who attended.
Last week we adjusted to Daylight Savings Time, and held our annual Veteran's Day Breakfast. Our Staff Veteran's Day Committee thoughtfully planned an event that honored our veterans, and also instilled a sense of patriotism and gratitude in our school community.
Report cards will be available online Friday, November 17th at 4:00pm. Please take some time to review your child's progress prior to Parent-Teacher Conferences.
Remember, there is no school the week of November 20th due to Parent-Teacher Conferences and Thanksgiving Break. Parent-Teacher Conferences take place on Monday, November 20th from 11:00am-8:00pm, and Tuesday, November 21st from 9:00am-6:00pm. If you have not done so already, please reach out to your child(ren)'s teacher(s) to schedule a time to meet on Monday or Tuesday of next week.
Wishing all Thompson families a joyous Thanksgiving filled with warmth, love, and cherished moments shared together. May this holiday be a time of gratitude and reflection for all that we hold dear.
Kindest regards,
Sandy Allen, Principal
