SDPC Digital Resources

Web apps need to be approved if they involve creating student accounts! Here is a list of SDPC Approved Apps! If you find a resource you would like to have vetted, please complete the SDPC request for instructional software by logging into the Staff Portal>AITS>Resources to access the forms.

Schoology is our primary communication tool for all students and is critical in grades 3 though 12 as parents check grades. Please make sure your parents have their parent access codes. You can easily see which students have parents associated with them in class roster.

Teachers should ensure they are meeting these minimal requirements for using Schoology.

Please encourage your parents to join Schoology using their parent access codes often at the beginning of the school year. If they had one from the previous year, they should not need to do anything this year.

We will crosslist all K-2 classes into the homeroom class. K-2 teachers should use only the homeroom section for posting materials for parents!

No matter what grade level or subject that you teach, there is likely a digital resource available that accompanies the digital text. These resources offer teachers and students a variety of enrichment activities and, in some instances, the digital textbooks are available as well. This Smore will help guide educators in best practices in unpacking and utilization of these digital resources.

SDPC provides learning tools that have been vetted for the level of quality and alignment with SC standards, interoperability with our systems, and internet safety requirements. Only approved technology resources should be used.

Free or unapproved apps may not meet the same guidelines. Some free apps collect student data, ask for payment, contain advertisements not suited for K-12 students, and require students to be hand rostered.

AITS staff members are often asked how students can access their online textbooks. Unfortunately, unless teachers activate the materials, students will not have access. It is therefore VERY important to take a few minutes to do this step EVEN if you do not plan to utilize the digital resources yourself. Your students will.

Brainpop uses ClassLink for single-sign-on. The teacher should not have to do any additional steps for set-up.

Students in 3rd through 5th grade are expected to learn their logins and passwords. Many schools teach all elementary students their logins and passwords. However, we realize younger children may have a hard time with this. We now have the ability to use QR codes for our younger students. They can use these QR codes to login to Chromebooks. See this link for directions on how to print QR codes for your students. We suggest sending one of these QR codes home early in the school year so we are prepared for Digital Learning Days.

Students using QR Codes should login ONCE to ClassLink manually before the QR Codes will work.

DreamBox is an online math program that is both engaging and proven to boost your child's math performance. This is available to math teachers through Classlink Launchpad. For training information, please see Dreambox folder on Amanda Wylie's Schoology course page or Dreambox self-paced courses for more information

Discus is available through the Launchpad. Look for the DISCUS icon. There are many great resources available this year for every day, as well as Digital Learning Days. See your media specialist for the username and password.
