Early Life
Gabrielle also known as Gabby was born VIrginia Beach,VA on December 31,1995. Her parents areTimothy Douglas and Natalie Hawking. She grow up as the youngest of 4. Having 2 older sister named Arielle, Joyelle and 1 brother named Johnathan. First introduced to gymnastics by her older sister Arielle who tought her do to a cartwheel. Years later Gabby tought her self to do a one-handed cartwheel. As Gabrielle fliped off fruniture in the house, her older sister Arielle decided to convice her mom to put her in a community gym.
Struggles
Gabrielle had to go through a lot to get to where she is. For a little bit of her life she lived in texas. When she lived in texas for a period of time she was homeless living in a van with her other siblings and parents. Also while training for the Olympics Gabrielle had to live with a host family to train with Liang Chow. Getting homesick Gabby was about to quit. All she did though was push on.

Olympics
When Gabby got to the Olympic trails she was outstanding. Toward the end of trails where they see who will be on the 2012 Olymic Gymnastic team. Gabby got first so she automadicly got a spot. Her teammates are Jordan Wieber,McKayla,Maroney,Ali Raisman and Kayla Ross. She was the first African-American to get the all-around gold. Also the first person ever to get the all-around and team gold in the same olympics.
