Principal News
Dear Arrey Elementary School Community,
As we approach the holiday season, I want to take a moment to wish you and your loved ones joy, warmth, and togetherness. The spirit of the holidays is a time for reflection, gratitude, and celebrating the connections that make our school family so special. Thank you staff, students, families, and the community that have helped make my first semester as your school principal so amazing!
As we bid farewell to 2023 and look ahead to the possibilities of the new year, I am filled with excitement for what we can accomplish together. The collective efforts of our staff, students, and families make Arrey Elementary a place of growth, compassion, and achievement. I eagerly anticipate our continued journey and the remarkable achievements that await us when we return from winter break.
Wishing you all a restful and joyful holiday season.
Warm regards,
Brandy Williams

Meet Our Amazing Cafeteria Staff, Custodian, & Save the Children Coordinator
Ms. Rosemary Salas, Cafeteria Staff
Hello. My name is Rosemary T. Salas. I have worked with TorC School District for over 20 years. I have been married to my husband, Fred Salas, for 44 years. We have 3 children, 3 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. In addition to working at Arrey Elementary, I also work for Ambercare, so I really don't have very much time for myself. I will be retiring sometime at the end of this year. I have enjoyed working with all our employees. I have really had fun working with the kids, especially answering all of the questions they have about cooking. I am ready for the next chapter in my life.
Ms. Monica Salas, Cafeteria Staff
Hello. My name is Monica Salas. I am married to Andrew Bencomo. We have one son named Anthony, who joined the military after graduating from Hot Springs High School. I have worked for Truth or Consequences Municipal School District for 20 years. I started working as a food service substitute in 2003. I did that for 3 years, before becoming a regular food service tech, of which I have been for the last 17 years. Funny story...I was hired as a full-time employee while substituting for the Thanksgiving Dinner at TorC Elementary School. I have loved working at all the schools. My mother, Rosemary T. Salas, and I have also worked the concession stands for all the Tiger games. I really love to be creative. Thank you all for all you do!
Ms. Veronica Vargas, Cafeteria Staff
Hola! I'm Veronica Vargas. I have been working for the Truth or Consequences School District for one year. I have enjoyed getting to know all the students and faculty at AES. I am a wife, mother of 3 girls, ages 11, 22, and 28, and a grandmother to 2 beautiful granddaughters. I couldn't be happier working for the wonderful community of Arrey Elementary School. My hobbies include trying out new recipes, shopping, and spending time with family.
Mr. Nathan Moore, Custodian
Hi, my name is Nathan Moore. I am the custodian at Arrey Elementary. I have spent most of the last 20 years in the construction and facilities maintenance industries, as well as owning my Firearms company for the past 13 years. I am a HSHS graduate as well as a Trinidad State College gunsmithing graduate. I have one son, Gunner, who will be 10 this December. He is my mini me! We are both avid outdoorsmen. Hunting, fishing and shooting are some of our favorite pastimes. I just want to say how honored I am to have the privilege to work with the amazing staff and students we have here at Arrey Elementary.

5th Grade DARE Graduation
On December 13, 2023, Arrey Elementary School's 5th Grade students will be graduating from the DARE program. DARE, which stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Education, is a program that educates students and attempts to prevent the use of controlled drugs, membership in gangs, and violent behavior. One of TorC's local police officers, and TCMSD's SRO, Officer Frazier, makes regular visits to all of the 5th grade classrooms in the school district, and warns/educates our students on the dangers of drugs. She teaches kids how to refuse and resist peer pressure when it comes to issues relating to drugs, alcohol, tobacco, and graffiti. Arrey Elementary would like to THANK Officer Frazier for her dedication to our students and our school! Your message will live in the hearts of our students forever!
