STAAR Online Practice Tests:

I know some of you have mentioned wanting to view the STAAR test online, and how it might look for your child! Please click HERE to view an online practice test. We will also be reviewing it in the classroom throughout the year.

Reading:

We will be switching from Fiction Elements to Nonfiction Elements next week. As we do so, we will be exploring text features within nonfiction texts.

Writing:

We are so proud of all the kids and their personal narratives! We have spent the last two weeks going through the writing process with our narratives, and we are publishing them next week! On Friday, students will have the opportunity to present them if they would like to do so. As part of the presentation, students are encouraged to wear what they would have worn during the moment they are writing about in their personal narrative.

Math:

Next week we will be switching from addition to 3 digit by 3 digit subtraction, with and without regrouping. We will review different strategies including algorithm, place value, number line, and expanded form. We will also review one step and two step word problems with subtraction.

Science:

We are going to be switching to our Physical Properties of Matter Unit in Science over the next couple of weeks. Next week we will be reviewing Mass and Magnetism.
