Kindergarten Music Sharing May 18
The Prairie Trails Kindergarten Music Sharing is the evening of Wednesday, May 18th. This performance is an opportunity to see what your children have been working on in Music class and be part of the Prairie Trails community. We’d love it if you and your family were able to attend!
We’ll be having two Kindergarten performances on May 18th.
Miss Seiwert, Mrs. Larson, Mrs. Santos, Mrs. Chmura & Mrs. Naegele’s classes will be performing at 6:00 p.m. The kindergarten performers will be meeting in their classrooms starting at 5:50 p.m. Students should remain with their families until that time.
Mrs. Parker, Mrs. Frew, Mrs. Alfirevic & Mrs. Burke’s classes will be performing at 6:40 p.m. The kindergarten performers will be meeting in their classrooms starting at 6:30 p.m. Students should remain with their families until that time.
On February 28, our district shifted to a mask-optional environment for all of our schools. This change also applies to visitors and attendees at in-person school events. During our music sharing event please be respectful of each individual’s masking choice. Please do your best to maintain social distancing when possible. Please note that the district reserves the right to adjust mitigation measures at any time, depending on the current COVID-19 data.
We understand that not everyone will be comfortable attending in-person events at this time. To accommodate this, we will offer a virtual option via a livestream feed on Youtube. This link will be shared the morning of April 21st.
We’ll be performing in the Prairie Trails gym. Door 1 will open at 5:40 p.m. for families to find seats. There is no set dress code for the performance. We just ask that students dress nicely and feel comfortable in what they are wearing.
The Prairie Trails PTC will be pre-selling ice-cream treats to be enjoyed outside after each performance. More details along with ordering information will be sent home closer to the event.
We are very excited to share the music we’ve been working on! Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions at mthompson@rtsd26.org.
Thank you,
Mrs. Meghan Thompson

PTC VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Open committees for 2021-2022 school year.
We are looking for volunteers to help fill the following committees for the end of this school year. A PTC committee member will help you get started and give you guidance for each event.
2. McDonald's Hamburger Picnic Day: May 23rd : The Committee head organizes and finds parents from each class to help. For this event parents are given the option to order a Hamburger from McDonalds for their child and we will also supplement with a chip, juice, and treat (like rice krispy). Kids have a picnic lunch outdoors where they get served their hamburger meal and can play with friends.
3. Teacher Appreciation Week: (Week of May 2nd) The committee organizer(s) will arrange a sign up genius for parents to sign up and donate different items for a snack cart that will be available to the teachers throughout the week. This is a way for us to thank them for all their hard work.
4. Music Show icecream pre-sales (May 18) We are still finalizing this even but we are also looking for a volunteer or 2 to organize a presale of frozen treats for after the kindergarten music show and to be there to serve the day of.
Please email the prairie trails PTC at prairietrailsptc@gmail.com to express interest in one of our open committees.
Sincerely,
Prairie Trails PTC
