Good evening Spartans,

Homecoming week was an amazing success!!! Thank you to all of the teachers, staff, students and volunteers that came together to make it such a memorable experience. From the spirit week activities, alumni tea, the HOCO assembly, the parade, the big WIN against the Mariners, to the amazing halftime show and finally the HOCO dance on Saturday, it was an amazing week!!!!

This week will also be a very busy week as we turn our focus to Futures Week. This week we will provide an opportunity for our students to take a look into their futures. Each day we will have activities in the big lawn for our students, all with a focus on post-secondary opportunities. On Wednesday our seniors will work on completing their FAFSA this and our sophomores and juniors will have an opportunity to take the PSAT. Our freshmen will be able to work on college and career activities through Thrively as well.

It has been brought to the attention of our Administration that students are increasingly using their cell phones in class without the teacher's permission. This is a reminder that cell phone use is not allowed during class unless the teacher has given permission to do so. If students are not following class rules in regards to cell phone use, the cell phone can be confiscated and kept in the main office. On the first offense, the student may pick it up, after multiple offenses, parent/guardian must pick it up themselves.

Congratulations to the Varsity football team for defeating the Mar Vista Mariners during the 75th Homecoming game at Chula Vista High School. The Spartans evened their record to 4-4 and are on pace to fight for a league championship.

CVH Celebrated its 75th Homecoming this past Friday and it was a huge success. The festivities, including the assembly, pre-game parade, halftime show and fireworks spectacular were a huge hit. Congratulations to Marco Moreno and Nayeli Galindo for being voted HOCO King and Queen!

Congratulations to our very own Spartan Legion Marching Band and Color Guard for placing first in both the Band and Color Guard division at this weekend's Rancho Bernardo Field Tournament.

Spartan Students we invite you to join Chula Vista High School's After School Programs! All programs are available for FREE! You can also stop by and have some fun at the Vault located in the Youth Center. The Vault has pool, air hockey, foosball, PS4, Switch, arcade games and more!!!!! **EVERYTHING IS FREE!!!!!!!**

Our morning hours will be from 7:15-8:15 AM (students will need to enter through Youth Center entrance at 465 L Street).

Our afternoon hours will be from 3:39-5:30 PM every day. We are also open during 7th/8th period for those students who are unscheduled.
