Hello Lakeside Parents and Guardians,

We are looking forward to seeing you at the Sweetheart Dance put on by our Wonderful Lakeside staff. The Sweetheart Dance will be this coming FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 8TH from 5:30PM-7: 30 PM. The Dance will have a DJ, Refreshments, Photobooth, Free Crafts, and Raffle Prizes. The tickets are Free! Tickets are for Lakeside students only and one adult. Students may bring a parent, grandparent, or special adult in their life. An adult must stay with their child during the entire event. Raffles from local businesses will be given away all night. Please RSVP no later than Tuesday, February 5th.

Our NEXT late start date will be Wednesday, February 6. Buses and schools will run on a 1-hour delay. If your student attends a daycare, please notify them of the 1-hour delay

The Pacers fundraiser packets came home earlier this week. Please make sure all checks are made out to Indiana Pacers. You can also complete your order online. This year, our SCHOOL NIGHT is Tuesday, March 5th, 2019 vs. Chicago Bulls at 7:00 PM. The deadline for ticket orders to be placed is Monday, February 11th. Remember the more tickets you sell, the more Pacer prizes you will accumulate!

SKATING PARTY...Our next Skating Party will be held on Thursday, February 7 from 6:00pm-8: 00 pm @ the Roller Cave located @ 8734 E. 21st Street. Cost is $6, which includes regular skate rental (speed skates and blade skates are extra).

Everyone age 3 and older, including older siblings, are required to purchase an admission ticket and wear skates. Every child must have an adult who is responsible for them @ school skating parties. Our PTA’s philosophy is to support family time...Children are not to be dropped off unsupervised.

The Warren Arts and Education Foundation invites Warren Township Students K-8 to audition for King Arthur’s Quest directed by Missoula Children’s Theater. Auditions are Monday, February 4th @ 4:30 pm in the auditorium at Creston Middle School, 10925 E Prospect Street. Students who are cast must be available to rehearse Monday, Feb 4th- Friday, Feb 8th from 4:30-9: 00 pm and ALL day Saturday, Feb. 9th for dress rehearsal and performances at 3 and 7 p.m. This opportunity is free to students, there is a $5.00 admission fee to attend performances on Saturday. We currently have many personal items in the Lost and Found bins located in the school clinic. Please check with your child and if they are missing any clothing, jackets, books, lunchboxes, or other personal items, please have them check our bins. Any item not claimed by the end of the year will be donated to a worthy charity.

It’s that time of year when we need to remind student to make sure they have appropriate clothing for recess. The district policy states students will be going outside for recess if the temperature and the wind chill are above 20 degrees. We have extra coats, hats, and gloves for students in need. Please contact the front office if you need assistance.

Students must go outside unless we have a doctor statement.

While we love to celebrate, please remember that there is a “no birthday treats “ guideline. Also, note that no birthday invitations are allowed to be distributed at school. It is school policy.

The occasion may arise when the school district wants to recognize your child or your child’s school. This may include your child’s photo, your child’s name or your child’s work in district publications, newsletters, on school district websites, and in electronic/social media or in staff training videos. We may also want to tell the media (including newspapers, television, and radio) about your child’s achievements. We never knowingly release information about a student to anyone who wants to use it for commercial/political purposes. However, we will honor your request to not include your child in these types of recognitions if you notify your child’s school office in writing that you do not want this type of information released.
