When using google slides or drawing alignment and distribute are great tools to use.
Alignment (left, right, middle)
Distribute (evenly)
Students can make Venn Diagrams in google drawing to compare/contrast concepts, stories, historical people.
While using the shapes (oval/rectangle) hold shift for a perfect circle or square.
http://Materialus.co/colors - has lots of colors to choose from with hex # that you can easily add to google slides for the perfect color combo.
There is a color palette generator on http://canva.com for perfect combos! You can gather colors from photos or search a keyword. Ex: thanksgiving
http://uigradients.com show hex colors for gradient backgrounds.
Ring lights can be added to ipads/iphones for perfect lighting on videos and pictures.

As a teacher you can pause and test predictions. He showed some great planet earth clips that would work well for this concept. (Iguana vs. snakes from planet earth 2)
Edpuzzle
Three truths and a lie - give students 3 things to listen to in the video and figure out which 2 are true and which is a lie. You can even have students create the three truths and a lie and then trade these with another student.
Sketchnoting- doodling while watching, but the doodles are about the topic, this is a huge concept at the moment.
You can embed videos in google forms and have questions in the form that you want students to answer.
Right click or two finger click for loop option on a video. This would be good for showing student work at parent night in a youtube loop.
Shortcuts:
Press F on the keyboard to go full screen.
C for captions
+ to increase font size
You can move the captions with the mouse.
Stop-Motion Animation with Google Slides
Stop-Motion or can also be described as GIF animation.
These are good for life cycles/moon phases, tell a story, reinact a historical moment, creativity.
