5th Grade Science with Mr. McIntosh
Looking Back –
This past week covered some of the most challenging science we have seen since the beginning of the year. Radioactive dating, isotopes, the geologic time scale, and index fossils help us understand how we can map Earth’s history before humans walked the Earth. After the break, we will put all the pieces together for our unit review and assessment.
Looking Ahead -
We will spend the week after our break reviewing topics from this unit. Some of you may still be completing the lessons from November, and we will make sure that everyone is confident as we take the Unit 5 assessment. We need to catch our breath as we finish this semester of study and prepare for our next units of study.
Holiday Science – Explore the turkey's history as our bird of choice for Thanksgiving and other holiday meals. Find its scientific name and try to bring some turkey science trivia back to share with your class. In this video, find out what really makes you sleepy after your big holiday meal. Happy Thanksgiving!
