STAAR Testing
Parents,
On test days, please make sure your child arrives to school on time and has a healthy breakfast to start their day.
May 14- 6th & 7th STAAR Reading, 8th gr. Rdg. Retest
May 15- 8th STAAR Science
May 16- 8th STAAR Social Studies
From Ms. Jones, Counselor/Registrar:
Parents on May 1, 2019 you will receive an email notifying you that the Returning Student Registration will be open. This requires all MISD families to update information in Skyward Family Access such as contact, emails, and phone numbers. If your child will be attending ANY Mesquite school next fall this must be completed in order for you to view your child’s schedule in August.
In order to receive emails from Mesquite ISD, make sure you have an email address on file for your child by logging in to Skyward Family Access and clicking on “Skylert” in the left hand menu column.
Tardy Policy
* Any student arriving tardy to 1st period without a Dr. note will be issued a lunch detention on that day. Thank you for helping your child to arrive to school on time so that they may have a positive and focused start to the day.
Attendance Reminders:
· 3 call-ins per year
· After you have used all 3 call-ins, doctor notes are required for every absence.
· If your child misses any part of the school day for doctor or dentist, including signing in late or signing out early, doctor notes must be turned in for the absence to be marked as excused.
· If students arrive at school after 8:45 a.m. without a Dr. note, the student will receive a partial absence.
· If a student has 10 unexcused absences in a 6 mos. period, the student and parent are in danger of truancy charges.
