💚The Benefits of Giving❤️
There are many other ways to give besides monetary donations or material things. Below are ways to give without breaking the bank:
- Volunteer your time. There are plenty of organizations that could use your time, especially during the holidays. Whether it be an organization that needs help wrapping gifts they are giving or a food pantry or kitchen.
- Make or Bake. Make a card or bake some goodies for others. This can be for your loved ones, those who have touched your life, first responders or those who are less fortunate.
- Take a day to clean up trash in a park or beach.
- Donate blood.
- Re-gift. Now is the perfect time to give away things in your house that you do not use or need. One's trash is another's treasure.
- Offer to babysit for the night. Give a mom a night out to do her shopping or give a couple a date night, for free.
- Cook for a loved one or friend.
- Offer to help someone decorate or wrap presents.
Happy Holidays!🎅
You can also take the kids on a Christmas light scavenger hunt using the image below! Fun for the whole family!
The Power of Positive Thinking
- Affirmations. Short sayings that help you boost your mood and focus your thinking. You can say these out loud or write them down. "I am strong". "I am enough". "I choose to be happy". or simply say "Today is going to be a good day".
- Reframe. When you catch yourself thinking or talking negatively, try to reframe the way you are saying or thinking about that thing. For example, instead of saying "I am never going to be successful" try saying "If I keep trying, I can figure this out".
- Smile more. Just smiling more, even if you're faking it, the action of smiling can help you feel more peaceful.
- Journal. Keep a journal to express gratitude.
- Spend time in nature. Being outside improves your overall wellbeing.
